I too am in the process of buying (my first flat), and it does make you tear your hair out sometimes! Dealing with other people in a big financial transaction is an eye opening experience! Mostly I find I've got to shrug and admit "nowt queer as folk!"
But that's not what I surfaced to tell you: You can search for any postcode on the Roy4l M4il website (see they are still good for something)
http://www.royalmail.com/postcode-finder/
As long as you have number, street and town it will find it for you. Saves waiting on somebody else bothering to reply to you :T
Keep going, you're doing amazingly!

Oh wow karmachilovething You've just saved me so much time, oh and hello and stop lurking :A!! I didn't know that site existed I now know my new postcode thank you so much.
It's just as well I have a thick head of hair, or I'd be bald by now, I'm not in any hurry to move again after this and I know I've had it easy compared to others. I've been lurking on the house selling board, there are some nightmare tales over there :eek:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Thanks to karmachilovething I have already arranged for a new phone line and broadband activation on 27th and Sky installation on 28th :T Don't tell me off for Sky, I've always had it and by 1st December I will be debt free and can have it anyway
:o
DS1 and fiance are coming over the day before the move as well as the day itself to help with the last minute stuff whatever that might be.
I'm running out of time to sort out the other utilities I'll do them tomorrow. The electrician that was arranged by the buyer hasn't turned up and I have to hit the shower soon, very annoying.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Guess what? The electrician forgot, glad I'm not paying him. He is coming now on Saturday. I've told the buyer I work late on Friday, ie 2:00am and don't get out of bed until late morning, so don't arrange a visit early! What's more I leave for work again at 4:00pm meaning I'm not waiting around.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

G'day Piq
I'm so pleased that you've managed to get everything sorted now, well done on standing up for yourself to all parties involved and hopefully it's smooth sailing for the move.
We moved just over a year ago and still have boxes to sort through - husbandpet tells me it's my stuff but when I start to go through it it's always his stuff :rotfl:. Probably need a few weeks off together to sort through it.
We just got a new washer dryer (:o I know you told me off but the washer broke too and so we bought one) 2 weeks ago and it's now kaput but hopefully getting fixed on Friday if not then a new one will be requested, thank goodness for the 28 day rule :rotfl:.
Really pleased that you're Dad is returning to good (or bad) humour as it's always a good sign.
Bring on the relaxing times hey.
