Any siblings who may not be wishing to own up to borrowing it?
(My nephews turned up 3 months later, about a week after his mum finally gave up looking and bought him a new one. Down the back of the settee where they'd already looked many times over. It'll be the poltergeist what done it.)
No borrowing:D the settee has been dismantled, no hope of getting him a new one, his loss, you replace:)0 -

Might be a bit of a last resort, but have you checked the airing cupboard? Just in case he needed to get some toilet roll or a towel on the way to the bathroom. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

I take it there's nothing like "find my iPhone" for iPods?
Edit: I've just seen it's in your house- I doubt that app would be that accurate!
That app works for iPods and iPads too. Despite the name.
If you log onto someone else's i-something, you can use Find My iPhone to play a loud lost sound. Trouble is, only works if the missing i-gadget has any battery left.
If my iPod goes walkies, it's normally in a pile of paper. They're really light and slidey.0 -

Whenever I lose anything, it usually turns up in the last place I look for it.0 -
This will seem very random but on an episode of QI recently they said that when you're looking for something it's most likely to turn up if you say outloud what it is you're looking for.0
