Hi, Could you post a link to the UK Reseller ?
Thank you

You will need the camera itself and then choose a mount, I use the suction one and it is fine.
If you don't already have them you will need an SD card, an adapter to run the USB from the lighter socket and you may need a longer cable than the one supplied to route round the windscreen. Shop around for these as you can probably get them cheaper on Ebay.0 -

At the moment now I'm swaying towards one of those action cams, as I want something with longish battery life as I don't want any wires trailing in the cabin, I have been using my mobile at present and the footage has been good day and night. So now looking at digital camcorders with a decent battery life.0 -
I am using a Blackvue 380HD camera, all wiring is tucked behind panels and is hidden. Takes crystal clear footage and its seen a couple of very near misses, one would of been VERY bad if the other driver hadn't of moved...thinking if it takes good footage of someone else's accident I could sell the footage to the non fault driver !
Its less money than my excess so if it saves me in a disputed accident then the camera is free."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
I'm seriously considering an SSD equipped laptop or netbook + HD webcam for my next camera. I've got a power inverter already and a small laptop would fit nicely hidden under the passenger seat.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I was the same so before I bought anything I got an old length of USB cable and tried to see if it could be hidden away.
It can be squeezed round the top and sides of the windscreen, then down behind and under the steering column and into the lighter socket. To stop it sagging behind the steering wheel I just used a strip of parcel tape.
All you can see is a 3 inch strip from camera to top of windscreen and a 6 inch strip going into the lighter socket.0 -

You could always pull apart the interior light, solder in a small 12-5v step down power supply to the interior light switch (just strip down a cheap lighter socket adaptor for its PCB) and then connect your USB to that instead..... No more wires to worry about“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Further to true MSE style, I have put the video on during driving with my mobile phone both day and night and have been looking at techmoan's reviews of the various cameras. As I have my previous mobile phones, I tried my current one as it is in a holder, and was pleased with the results both day and night, as I understand the mobile camera specs is 'better' than many of the in car cams, I got my xperia ray and recorded a 1 minute video in wvga mode, the file size was 15.7mb, so I guess 942mb in an hour, so a 4gb card should do me for 4hrs, also looking at the reviews for the action camssony hdr as10 and go-pro the battery life is just over 2hrs, the battery in those units are less capacity than my Ray, so I'm going to give the ray a go at recording my full journey to work and back and see how long the battery lasts :cool:0 -
Just another update, made a 15 minute video to see how much drain on the battery and memory consumption, calculated it would be 236mb , but the properties show 229mb and the battery has reduced 17% in in 68 mins.0
