Sorry, I realise my last post is likely to take this potentially useful thread wildy off topic. Please pretend I didn't say anything if you can...0

OK then. LOL.
2nd attempt at posting video clip.

Full screen will be distorted a bit - I sacrificed pic quality to get more on the disc.
Sound was also switched off.
Hope it works - I'm no good at posting links.0 -

. Where are you driving? It looks amazing!
Video quality isn't great, but it should be good enough to give the basic information required in relation to crash liability I'd have thought? Speed and location could be worked out from the footage too.0 -

Secondly, he wasn't in sight until at least half way between the two.
Thirdly, I needed that lane for the roundabout.
Forthly, he was travelling at ridiculous speed (easily over 100mph) and I didn't know what he was going to do, had I moved over when i'd seen him, there would have been a collision........ I was travelling at "motorway speed", at the point where he cut down the LH lane, he'd slowed down, but clearly thought he could get through the gap.
Lastly, troll all you like, but the guy was still a f**king idiot.Somebody else who thinks that they need to be in the right hand lane at least a mile before the roundabout.Ultrasonic wrote: »Sorry, I realise my last post is likely to take this potentially useful thread wildy off topic. I have to agree about the focal length , I've just been to the supermarket and decided to record the journey as my phone is in a holder on the windscreen, it worked well, 6 mins though was nearly 700mb. So a mobile may only give me about 45 mins recording time with a 32gb card. I will try the £20 from the well known auction site .0 -
Ive got one of the Road Angel ones, there not cheap, but a fantastic piece of kit. The advantage of the ready made ones is that they record on a loop, and are connected to gps, so when playing back you see the video, time, speed, g-forces etc. The reason i got it, is i drive a sporty car, and don't trust garages not to thrash the car! Mine fits behind the rear view mirror so you cant even see it, have it wired up so it turns on with the ignition. To see the video, i just take out the SD card and plug into a laptop, all the software is on the sd card, so you can use any computer.
I cannot see the road angel one the site is only showing the SCD units.0 -

It's the Pyrhn Pass in Austria - just North of Liezen - it's the old main road South from Wien to Graz - from before they made the Pyrhn Tunnel. I use it because it gives beautiful scenery, and you avoid the toll for the tunnel. Not many foreigners (like me) use it these days.
It's a good test of a cheapy camera as it goes in and out of deep shade and has extreme contrast between dark trees and white snow in the morning sunshine.
It gives much better results in normal / UK light conditions and at higher resolution settings - but uses more memory.
Good little camera for the money.0 -

Also, can the screen be folded away when in normal use? I'm assuming so but it might be a little annoying if not.
I'm quite tempted by the eBay option.
(Not wanting to hi-jack your thread DUTR but hopefully these questions aren't irrelevant to you.)0 -
Somebody else who thinks that they need to be in the right hand lane at least a mile before the roundabout.
It's a main link from the M5 motorway, a full speed dual-carriageway. Unless empty, you need to get in lane before that final crest, or face mad rush of people changing lanes at 70 mph heading for a stationary queue.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

It's also £15.30 on amazon, I trust it doesn't come with an SD card, which are £14.50 on amazon.0 -
Another vote for the Mobus and they are now available from UK sellers so no longer have 3 weeks delivery and duties to pay.
Techmoan has tested all the popular dashcams and the Mobus stands out from the rest0
