I've just had a judgement on a case (no DVR evidence). Long story short, I stopped and pulled in to let another driver pass on a country lane, he's going too fast, doesn't brake and does major damage to my car. The judge said I was at fault!
The other driver said I was in the middle of the road doing 40mph+ but I'd been stationary for maybe 3 seconds before he hit me. So DVR evidence would have shown him to be lying and driving dangerously.
My question is, does anyone know of any motoring cases where in-car DVR evidence was accepted?
The judge in my case was incompetent (my Barrister's words), so it wouldn't surprise me if both he and other judges declined to view these videos.
You can read about my case here if you're interested

If you had DVR evidence then it probably wouldnt get any further than the insurance companies 1st review.
They would know the other party were lying.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

That was quick!
Anyway, I used the program recommended by Techmoan - just installed it on a computer and connected the camera using the USB cable - I did not try the save data to the sd card etc trick.
One item I found useful was pressing the middle button while it is recording saves that clip from being written over.

And the program ; http://www.mytempfiles.info/mobius/index.html
I set mine to Record on power application, 5 minute loop, full 1080, and also to turn the image upside-down (as the camera is upside-down).
Did you get your cables away tidy? - On a new car the door seals will slide off and back on nice and easily without any damage. - Once off, my car has a nice big gap between the white lining and the steel post.0 -

I can now get the camera to work..after many attempts with formatting!
It is now set to record on power ON, but camer view seems very limited not 120deg as per Technomoan says.
What settings have you guys used? Should fps be 30 or 60? and have you put a limit on each file recording time?
thanks0 -
Mine is 30 frames per second, 5 minute loops (actually 5 min 1 second, any two loops overlap each other slightly).
Each file is 553 meg, so a 32 gig card stores just under 5 hours.
A screen shot of the video in daylight looks like

Hope this helps!0 -
Is the camera in 1080 mode? Maybe its a fake one.
Even the techmoan reviews mention buying something and it turns out to be a cheaply made piece of junk. Not living upto the specs.
Also others have bought from the same seller as he did and got inferior products.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
