item cost was less than £100 so doubt credit card would get involved.
otherwise RM price to post back is £12.50..... which is why i would normally not buy from Chinese sellers
could i be cheeky and buy a 2 year square trade warranty via ebay for $10, as its still giving me that option on my selling history for the camera, even though i bought it in mid october.

You're thinking of a Secion 75 claim. A chargeback is different and covers a transaction of any value.
  • i see Halfords are selling dash cams saw them at the weekend,
staff said not had them in very long, one with gps.
  • New to MSE and joined to get some advice on dash cams, that is good to know Halfords now selling them, I like to be able to see what I am buying, not just look at pictures on a website. I wanted front and back so was considering the Mi-Witness front and rear or the BlackVue 550 front and rear, anyone got either of these?
  • I use a Roadhawk and love it, the images are so clear. I am a driving instructor and find recording my journeys and my pupils lessons invaluable. I have captured many episodes of inconsiderate driving and 2 of my captured episodes have resulted in police action against the drivers. Wouldn't be without my dash cam!
  • Thanks for that, I don't think Roadhawk do a front and rear camera but I will look into it. There seem to be so many articles on dash cams now and protecting against flash for cash and crash for cash and it is good to hear the police have acted on your dash cam evidence.

I might try this one for the back window.

also when U use Sat Nav have to have 2 feeds.................Anyone found an easy way to route the cable round W/S tried Blu Tack, but it just looks cheap & melt in hot weather.

The wire is thin, I just used my fingers to push/force it between the windscreen and the trim. Then underneath the steering wheel where I use a piece of parcel tape to hold it under the steering column. As it's out of sight that can't be seen.

Back home I belong to a car club and most members have done the push between windscreen and trim and it works for all the cars I have seen.

I bought a double adapter plug off Ebay so I can plug it in along with satnav.

Your link goes to Techmoans "report" on that camera, when you click on his link to the Ebay site, (it is also on Amazon), one of the points in the blurb is: "import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.".

Dose anyone know if taxes are charged? Techmoan doesn't mention them.

Another seller on Amazon mentioning the taxes.

Depends on the seller. Everything i have bought from China comes as a gift and priced at $10.

Even stuff i have paid £60 - £80. Never been charged any fee's. But the risk is there.

I bought an item off that seller a while back. Tracking said at my local depot, delivery in 2 -3 days. But didnt state what local depot. 2 weeks later nothing arrived.

Tracking still said the same. Contacted the seller, The postman the sorting office, Even the local post office. No trace. Seller sent me another one.

I had to open a dispute just in case. But it arrived a few days after.

Tracking for the old one still says delivery in 2 - 3 days. But the tracking number doesnt work in the UK systems.

Joovuu sell the Mobius in the UK and that is where I bought mine. You buy outside the EU and if the package is opened by customs, you have to pay the duty. PLUS Royal Mail stick on an admin fee for collecting the duty.

If the gamble of buying outside the EU pays off you pay less, if it doesn't you end up paying more.
