You have clearly lost your mind.
You accuse us of not helping you, but clearly us helping you is dependent on you giving us the correct information. You most obviously have not done so.
A pertinent question posed in post #12 remains unanswered, so how would it be possible to progress that line of help?
Then, 12 days and fifty seven posts after you started this thread, we discover that you gave us completely erroneous information on the machine, thereby nullifying that particular line of help.
Yet instead of apologising for wasting our time, your arrogance is astounding.
That was just me trying to help you. I'm sure closed and others have already given up trying to deal with you.
As stated before, the problem is not with the computer. Any of us would have solved it on the day you posted. The problem is fixing it through you.0 -
You wrote that you answered the question posed in post #12, but I can't find that answer. Can you help me to find it?0

There's nothing more frustrating than someone asking for help, and then logging off for a day, before ignoring the questions and advice repeatedly from people trying to help, and then being rude or ungrateful to them, before taking it to a pc shop. It's wasting our time too.
If you want help, answer the questions.
If you want to know why "we" aren't getting very far, it's because We aren't doing what is asked, when asked, or suggested are WE?
I'll remind you, in case it's not obvious, our pc's are working, it's yours that isn't

Just tried to bake a chocolate cake using your recipe, didnt happen, none of you expert bakers are telling me why it didn't happen, so I'm going to buy one from a supermarket. Not going to tell you exactly what happened, or what I did, however many times you ask, but I might drip feed some random clues along with a few red herrings into the thread over a period of weeks just to tease you.
PS It was really a coconut sponge
PPS I ignored all your suggestions to turn the oven on, it was too far to walk!!

Well, you've shown yourself up for what you are, well done, back on my ignore list.
Hey, look on the bright side. At least a sale for those hard working bods at PC World. In this case they will deserve every penny that they can get.
Definitely one for the Techs to put on ignore.

Wow, you tech guys showed the patience of a Saint!!!!
Congratulations on keeping your cool for so long. Was this poster genuinely looking for help?0 -
I am astounded by the attitude in this thread. There's one poster in particular that seems very obnoxious and should be ignored
PS - for a clue, see post #10 -

I have been following this thread from the start as I had hoped it just might just shed some light on my continuing PC troubles but could see how it was descending into farce and ultimately failure quite early on but I’m now shocked and saddened to see the vitriol that’s resulted, particularly from the OP to those who were simply offering to help – as they have done for a great many of us.
These guys who give their time and knowledge to those of us who come on here looking for help should be lauded and applauded for what they do and it would be tragic if they understandably decided to leave us to our own devices and say “Why do I bother?”.
Clearly there was some early confusion and (perhaps understandable) ignorance on the part of the OP which resulted in a lack of information in the beginning for those looking to help but instead of the OP looking back to try and understand or ask the right questions to clarify, he (or she?) became more and more frustrated, taking out on those who were simply looking to help in the first place which is a great shame.
So NiftyDigits and Closed – Please do not let this particular incident put you off as you should know, there are many hundreds, if not thousands out there who respect and value your help and advice a great deal, including those of us who simply look for help and ideas by following other threads rather than starting one from scratch – Please keep up the good work! :A

Just thought I'd add my own comments to this thread (I've been following it with a view to learning something new).
I've asked for help several times on this forum and have never been abused/ignored/had the mickey taken/etc.
When I've asked for help, I've been given efficient advice and even pointers to do my own research in future (which I thought was a nice touch).
I'm not exactly computer illiterate, but Closed, NiftyDigits and Waddler8 (and a few others) have probably forgotten more than I know now.
The only time I ran into problems was when I fouled up following a set of instructions, so my fault and no-one elses.
At a (very) rough estiamte, the help I've had from this forum would probably have cost me several hundred pounds in a shop.
All I can say to Closed, NiftyDigits, Waddler8 and the others is a big thank you and please keep up the good work.
::quick edit::
Any of you guys want to teach an old dog new tricks?????:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0
