I don't think I've seen the Tiger bite so soon in a thread OP, it is usually after 6 posts, when the trolls come out, and argue between thereselves..
Ok you downloaded some Malware, the compy goes stupid, strange that you can't get into safe mode???
What you need to do is download antivirus, that boots at switchon from cd, and scans the Hdd boot sector, from another PC, then set as autoplay for your compy.
Otherwise, just format you hdd, and start again.
WELL !!! I for one didn't understand any of that !!When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
if you posted a little more information, that would probably be avoidable.
My Son has just been around and showed me the system information
Microsoft Windows XP Home edition version 2002 service pack 3
Computer Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 5 CPU 2.66GHz
2.66GHz, 768 MB of RAM
Does this help ?When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -

As previously posted...When I click on the IE icon it comes up with a message that says " Internet explorer is currently running without add-ons"
Therefore it won't work
I had been using Mozilla Firefox to access the internet. When I click on the icon it brings up Google homepage and will also bring up the results page if I enter something into the search.
However, when I click on one of the results, it always comes up with an error message which says
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading...blah blah blah
With a button that say "try again"
I have Avast security and I think it is Windows firewall. When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
you don't need internet access on that machine to post a log, it's a txt file, which can be transferred or typed
IE, that's an information message, click past it, and go to the homepage
disable all your firefox addons, run ccleaner if installed!!
