Well, we are slowly clawing the funds together. We have asked for a payment break on the car loan ( it's paid ahead anyway) which will free up about £400. Hubby has cancelled his pension contributions and a small bonus should be in his account by the end of the month too which should combine to at least £400. I know we can put about £950 into the pot as it stands so we just need to squeeze out a few more hundred from Ebay. Here's hoping for a good weekend on that score!

And just in case this isn't enough, my ex has now reared his truly ugly head and threatened me with legal action. Just how far can you push someone? We might be finding out here soon.

Aaaaannnnnndddddd now a parking fine for the services where we literally passed out in the car park on the way back from the ferry because you apparently had to pay to park there and it was clearly signposted.......which we didn't see in our exhausted state.....and because the car was hired, the hire car company have added their own £35 admin fee to the original parking fee!!! This would be funny if it wasn't utterly soul destroying. Very much getting to the point of looking forward to kissing goodbye to this country!

Bless you guys for checking in on me when I can barely keep up with myself.


The rent is behind and I have no way to make it up. We have given notice on the apartment. I don't know where I will be living in about 6 weeks. Hubby will have jetted back to the US. Everything is up in the air. I have gotten to the point where I just shrug my shoulders at the latest expense. There is no money so what's the point in getting upset. I have nothing to give to anyone.


Ebay has been allowing some funds to trickle in but a trickle won't fix the current problems. We have paid for about 50% of the repairs to the vehicle. We will be paying the other 50% next week. This will again leave us short on the rent. The plan is to pay enough to make us even when they take the deposit to cover the arrears once we leave.


I am heading into town this morning to see if I can find out when the funds from the sale of my ring are expected to be transferred to me. With a bit of luck, it might not be too far in the future but given my current streak of crappiness, I am not holding my breath. Waiting on the 28th when we find out if Mr HOK3Y has got a bonus......which I sincerely hope he has. Then he's handing in his notice.


I can honestly say I have not enjoyed the last 3 weeks one bit. And it feels like 100 years. Tell you one thing though, it has slammed home the point that you MUST have an emergency fund. It will be one of the first things we take care of when we pull out of this mess. Never again.

oh hok3y - its good to hear from you and I am sooooooooooo sorry - this could not have happened to a nicer more motivated person and I hate to see a cloud over your great, sunny nature.

I will keep my fingers crossed for the fund from the ring being available very very quickly. Have you got someone you can stay with if worst comes to worst in 6 weeks time and you need someone to stay with before making the move with Mr H to the US?

emergency funds definitely can't be over-estimated, its one of the reasons i haven't closed all of the cc accounts although I should - that fear of the unknown.

HOK3Y..just checking in. Keep on going. Am sure this is will just turn out to be another bend in the road. It won't last forever and the rent will get paid, even if it's just out of the deposit.
