Holy smoke! Surely it's most economical to just ditch it at this point? Sell it for scrap and maybe those funds will help ease the other costs a bit?

Hope things look up for you soon, very impressed with your ebaying spirit! I wouldn't have been able to pick myself up enough to even bother.

Oh god this is SO unfair. F&cketty f&ck.

Hmm. It is tempting to mend it isn't it and then flog it..that's quite some gap to take the hit on if you just sold it for scrap.

Is there anything else you can sell? And yes agree you need to talk to the landlord and spread the payments over say 3 months. Have you been in arrears before? If not, it's a credible story and worth a try. To be honest it's in his/her interest to be reasonable if you are a good tenant.

Your OH's ex is also a c&w. Some people just have no empathy. It was hardly his fault. I feel for him.

Take care. You will win through.

Sending you lots of hugs xxx

The car is a beautiful 4wd Jeep which we absolutely adore. To say we're gutted is an understatement. Turns out that the gearbox went and cracked the compartment. As the car is an import, finding parts has proved difficult.

Never been in arrears before and the landlord was really nice but that was when I explained I would pay this Monday. Urg.

Thank you all for your support and checking in on me. I hope the rebels are having a ball. I am still collecting coins (anyone know where I can find 250,000 pennies!!!) but I don't have the energy to bounce onto the thread right now. Do tell everyone I'm not dead though, S-U! :D

You guys are so lovely - very lucky lady I am to have so much kindness and support. Thank you.

Right, well, socks pulled up and full scale financial counter attack underway. Hubby has the day off and has been instructed to get all the meter readings (we have to get the concierge to unlock the areas where the meters are). I think we've been overpaying so I'm going to have npower sort it out now. He's also been told to look at removing money we have tied up in accounts that will mean paying a penalty to withdraw. I'm transferring every bit of cash I can find into the one main joint account and we will go from there.

What the future holds, I don't know but I'm getting my Jeep back!

Hok, I'm sorry i haven't been around. I'm having my own dramas, granted not £2,500 worth of drama but still.

I just wish i had that kind of money to give out. I would be in my car on the way to Yorkshire right now, as would the rest of us i'm sure.

I will be thinking of you on Saturday, i shall put the lottery on and if i win £2,500 or more i'll take it as a sign and it's yours.

I hope everything works out for you.

I may not be around much but you and your hubby are in my thoughts
