Well things are moving ahead quite quickly now! Only 1 police check remains outstanding and I have my medical down in London on Thursday. If the final police check comes back next week, then I can apply for my visa appointment in 2 weeks! It has taken so long to get to this stage and now, all of a sudden, it is moving along at quite a clip. I suppose it will depend when I can get an appointment at the Embassy once the medical is done but it is looking hopeful that I can be reunited with my family quite soon.

Meanwhile, we have been working on furnishing the house in the States. Never been so happy to be able to pay cash for everything we needed. Mr HOK3Y has been sending pics back to me of the progress and it is starting to look lovely. I really can't wait to get over there and start up our life together again.

Currently have a fight on my hands with Npower for billing me 2 YEARS after leaving our old house, despite asking them repeatedly to sort it out. Well, I'm not working so I have nothing better to do than get my teeth into them.....so I will! :)

Hope all is well and Christmas isn't hammering anyone too hard. :)

On the train down to London and feeling chilled. By far the least stressful way to travel. Headphones in, Nickelback playing and the person who reserved the seat next to me is a no show - AWESOME!!! It is going to be a good day. Here's hoping for a couple of hours of sight seeing too. :). I love London and haven't had any spare time down there in forever.

Hopefully today will go smoothly and I will be one step closer to a plane ticket. I am missing my kids and hubby so badly.

Moneywise I am doing well.....considering I am not working and this trip has set me back in excess of £400 all told. I have been Ebaying my heart out and doing well. Working on clixsense and swagbucks has also yielded extra useful pennies.

Hope everyone else is doing well and staying strong in the face of Christmas and the ridiculous over-commercialism that goes with it!

Crimson! Hello! So lovely to 'see' you! :D Yes all is going well - medical went without a hitch and I came home to find that the final police check is back. So I can apply for my visa interview in 6 days time. Hopefully I can be with my family sometime next month. A new year and another new start. I'm getting good at starting over!

Trying not to get my hopes up but it's hard!

Your signature is looking great, crimson! How are things going? Are you ready for Christmas? x

Well, long time no post but finally I have jumped the Atlantic and am getting settled into life Stateside once more. We have remained debt free throughout all of this although that is about to be shattered as we need to take a mortgage against the house to bring it up to standard but hey, I can handle mortgage debt. Unsecured CC/loan stuff, no way Jose!

I am not working yet and am wondering what the best plan is. I am hoping to set up a business from home. Mr HOK3Y is already working a sideline that is bringing extra money in and I am working the financial/admin side of that for him. It's good to be doing something that is just for us. I am actually going to draw a small token salary from it this next week! How cool is that!

Hope everyone is doing well and busting debt no matter what form it appears in! :D

Hi Alex and thanks AND A MASSIVE CONGRATS TO YOU!!!! I see you have totally busted your debt as of last month! That is fantastic news!! So pleased for you!

I meant to also point out that I am really loving hunting for roadkill here - if you can't find roadkill in Walmart, there is something wrong with your eyes! Today I found 29 cents in the 5 minutes I was in there! Old habits die hard!
