Thank you all so much for stopping by with well wishes - made me smile no end! It was a really amazing moment yesterday to realize that the money coming in is now ours. I worked out last night that after I pay my rent (which includes all the bills and council tax) that I will have about £1700 a month and all I'll need to buy out of that is food! Okay.....I might have to sub hubby for a while until he finds a job of some kind in the US...!

It is really amazing to discover just how much money I have once my debts are gone. I have felt like an absolute pauper these last few months. Time to start living a little again. :)

Meanwhile, my thoughts of celebrating last night were short lived as we have an apartment to clean and paint! The evening was spent checking our insurance policies, painting the kitchen and moving lots of stuff for shipment into the spare room. I hope this turns out to be the most organised move ever! Have to admit that it is far less fun without the military to handle (and pay!) for everything.

Oh well, I'm thinking Betty's for tea on Friday! :D

Hoping to meet up with my new landlady today to pay the deposit and first month's rent although I won't be laying my head down to sleep there for another week and a half. It's weird to think how different life is going to be this summer.

Hope everyone is doing fabulously well! :)

Well done...it's amazing HOK3Y..Funny though how you're so quickly back onto the humdrum chores after the brief celebration though!! I know that!, but as you say, every penny that comes in now is mine...and for me to use as I wish..not to pay off past spends. It's one hell of a change :)

Thanks Shelbi and brizzle - I am definitely looking forward to some serious saving now. Need to actually open a savings account! Life is going to be so very different going forward. Have you gotten used to it yet brizzle? I still feel a little panicky towards all things money!

So today I had the big conversation with work about what is going on and that I will be leaving in a few months. Hardest thing I have had to do in a long time. I flat out don't want to leave here and I don't want to leave my lovely job and wonderful company. :( The HR partner could not have been more supportive. What the heck will I do without this place?! :( Maybe a lottery win is due my way that will enable us to shift plans.......I'll just keep playing and praying!

Hope everyone is doing well this fine Thursday! :)

Well done on getting the courage to have the conversation Hok. At least everyone knows where they stand and i'm sure they know how much it means for you to leave. Keep your chin up, everything will work out.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and the lottery win.

Thanks crimson! There's always hope with the lottery! :D Tha jackpots in the US can be massive so maybe I'll have more luck there....!!

Thanks pap and your signature is awesome......is that all you have to kick? That's wonderful!

Meanwhile I am up and ready for another mad day in the office before I have 5 days off to get moved out of this apartment. After the night we had last night with the upstairs neighbours, it is a very welcome exit. Sick to death of the noise problems here and for some reason, whenever they have friends over, the woman needs to screech and shout to have a conversation......and it goes on for hours with doors banging and heavy footsteps thudding. In fact the footsteps were so bad last night that I could feel them while I laid in bed!

    Anyway, not much longer....:)

Hope everyone else is happy to see Friiiiiiday roll around!
