Thanks Crimson. I would do anything for them - they have treated me so well and I love my job which is not something I've truly been able to say before. Part of me would prefer to stay here a bit longer than hubby would be comfortable with, and that's hard. Things are at a difficult and crucial stage in my office right now and I simply cannot drop it and walk - I can't. Not if I want to keep my self respect. Which means I have to get it up to speed and FAST! If you believe in miracles.....I might need one!

I will keep everything crossed for you. Skype and other video calling services make it a lot easier to be away from loved ones when we really need to be. Perhaps you could stay with a friend for a few weeks with the promise of free accommodation should they want to visit the states? That way you can get everything straight at work and Mr Hok3y would know that you were safe and looked after. Not to mention it being free (bar the odd bottle of wine).

Aaaaah, if only! Mr HOK3Y isn't predominantly concerned about my safety......he's far more worried about me not being with him all the time......and seeing as we are planning on working together in the US, I think I might need a few weeks to myself before I get there! :D I have found a couple of rooms to rent which will mean no more train fares as they are walking distance from my office. We shall see how those pan out in the next week or so.

Meanwhile, Mr H's flight is booked and he will be leaving me on our wedding anniversary! The man will owe me after that one! However, looking at all the paperwork, I am very hopeful I will be able to remain here long enough to dig my team out of the ditch we're currently in.....or at least give it a damn good go!

Well, what a day. It is beautiful here in NY and I had arranged to meet a friend, his wife, and little boy for a nice walk into the gardens. I got my munchkins up, dressed and out the door - glorious sunshine and warm temp. Met up with our friends who went to grab a sandwich in a nearby shop. As I'm standing outside, something warm and wet hits me dead centre of my forehead and slides down my nose........courtesy of a pigeon overhead!!! Head into Costa to wash my face and get it out of my hair.....utterly disgusting.....and thoroughly amusing to everyone else! And yes, I've put an extra line on the lottery tonight!

Hello SU and thank you! I won't leave here when I'm on the other side of the Atlantic. This forum has been SO great for me to help shift my viewpoint of money. I cannot imagine being without it. So many lovely and uplifting people here, yourself included. It does a soul good to have so much positivity - especially when the chips are down and most people on DFW feel a bit kicked in the teeth. So I will happily continue to stop by and post as and when I can. :)

I have had a really good day today - we finally replaced my engagement ring (long story but the original one fell apart and saw the end of a long relationship with a jeweller). I found the most stunning cushion cut sapphire and diamond ring in an antique shop in York and we picked it up today. It is mind blowing and it was a stupid, fantastic price. I am over the moon with it.

My daughter's birthday is on Tuesday and I have snapped up everything for her presents. She saw a bag today that she just flipped out over so we bought that and I have some Pandora earrings for her and some undies/pjs from my favourite pj/undie shop - Primark! I LOVE how much you can get for your money in that shop! It should make for a happy 14 year old!

All the loose ends of the last few years are slowly being tied up and it feels good. I am waiting on the funds from the ring sale and that will end all of our debt. Then I just need to find somewhere to live and work on a shed load of paperwork so I can join my hubby on the other side of the Atlantic.

I am so close to the light at the end of the tunnel that I may need sunglasses........thank you Universe for bringing me this far and making everything line up so beautifully when we really needed it. X
