Oh Hok, men can be such a-holes at times. My OH was also in a foul mood Saturday and despite being in the same room as him not two feet away didn't talk to me or come anywhere near me. We would usually walk the dog together but not that day, he got up and left and didn't even say where he was going never mind asking me to go with him. He got a talking to that's for sure. Seems a little better now though. No matter how mad i am at him though he still manages to make me forgive him... Apparently he had a headache....Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

Hello everyone and apologies again for my lack of presence - I'm just so darn busy these days that I don't often get any downtime to pop in and update my diary. I'm only here now because I had to leave work on time for a physio appointment or I would likely still be in the office!
Life is going pretty well. I still have no news from the Embassy. I'm feeling a bit fed up but taking each day as it comes. Our goods have been delivered to my hubby in the States which is a huge weight off our minds and customs wasn't horrendously expensive so I am breathing a little better knowing that has been dealt with. We have managed to put away a few thousand dollars into a savings account so we feel we are starting to fall on our feet. Hubby has secured a good job and is really pleased with himself.
I have dropped about a stone and a half in weight and am continuing to drop but at a slower pace. I managed to run a half marathon distance 2 weeks ago but have hurt my ankle so am now trying to rehabilitate it and go easy. I've taken my runs down to 40 minutes on the treadmill which is gentler to my joints than running on the road......it's just boring as hell!
I move in with my sister as of next weekend and am really looking forward to some quality time with people I love. I need to get on the ball and hire a car though.....yikes!
I have been getting out and about a lot more these last few weeks which has been so good for me. I've spent lots of time with friends and family and I even went into Harrogate for the Tour de France.....and got within 10 feet of Harry, Wills and Kate!!!! Could have died happy right there! It was awesome! I won't lie, there was no attempt at 'cool', I just lost it and screamed like a 13 year old!
Wish I had more news on my move but it will happen when the time is right I am sure. Hope everyone else is doing well and plodding along in the right direction.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

The best news is that you are happy and having fun! Everything else will come when it comes. Enjoy the time you have here whilst you have it. Think of the delays in the move as opportunity to soak up all the UK and your family have to offer!!
I am very jealous at your proximity to the royals, especially those wonderful 3.
It's lovely to hear from youSealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

Hi crimson! Thanks for stopping by - very lovely to hear from you too.
Today I am heading up to Durham on the train to get my passport sorted out with their one day service. I have just passed through Darlington and should be in Durham in about 20 minutes - and two hours early but I like giving myself lots of time! Hopefully I will have my new passport in my hand in a few short hours.
Still no news but I am pressing forward. My ridiculous housemate (I really can't stand the guy) had a huge fight with his girlfriend last night that I had to listen to through a shared wall and every other word was the f word. Several threats of violence we extended. This weekend cannot come soon enough. I don't know why the lady who owns the house (and lives there also) is happy to have him there. I'd be kicking him out! He was arrested at the house twice in the last 2 months! Very glad to be getting away from him.
It's a beautiful sunny morning - hope it continues and that I can get out into the city for some exploring. Hope everyone is not too sad to see Monday again!!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

Helloooooooooo MSE! Long time, no post! Well, I have nothing overly new to report. I am still living with my sister and I have no idea when I will get to the US. I know I have passed the first hurdle but am waiting on information from the Embassy to go on to stage 2. It is taking a phenomenally long time and Mr HOK3Y is none too pleased.
On the plus side, we are continuing to increase our savings every month and Mr HOK3Y has a realtor coming out at the weekend to look at selling the house we were given so that we can buy somewhere more suitable. I am still living by MSE standards and I still value every penny I can get my hands on. I still look for Roadkill, I still pick up receipts and I've been making a decent amount of money every month on one ad/survey website. Best haul was over $50 in one week. That's not to be sniffed at!
I have the week off this week and am simply chilling out at home. It's been lovely - and cheap! No petrol costs, no hire car costs - it's been great! Plus it has given me time to Ebay more of my stuff and whittle down my wardrobe as much as I can.
I hope everyone is still going strong, still going for DF. The only way is forward. Love and luck to all my fellow DFWs!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
Hello MSE! Well, half a step closer with the visa - I have applied for my police checks and am waiting on them coming back. But I suppose the biggest news is that I've quit my job. The amazing thing is that I can survive financially without worry - which I would never have been able to do a year ago. Thank you MSE for helping me become debt free! So now I can concentrate on time with my family, might take some easy Christmas work, but other than that I'm just going to get back into my running and learn to meditate to try to de stress. It has been a rough couple of months.
I am hoping to be heading to the US by the end of Jan but that might be overly optimistic - we'll see.
Hope everything is going well for everyone.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0
