Hoks I think you had so much kindness and strength to go to someone who needing help - so many people wouldn't have done - like you said loads of people must have heard her but only you and Mr H acted on it.

I think you're amazing. And I'm sure that young woman does too.

Oh my - hello everyone and thank you so much for your very kind words. I can only say that I hope that someone would do the same for my daughter if she were in a similar position.

I do have to admit to being slightly annoyed that not another single soul showed up to make sure a young woman was safe. Yes it is a wooded and secluded area but there would have been probably hundreds of people in nearby houses that could hear the commotion.

Oh well. I will worry about the moral compasses of the entire town's population another day!

Hiya brizzle! Well, I have definitely been there too. Don't know how anyone could have left her there in that state. Just wanted to smack her boyfriend tbh.

Well my weekend fleeeeeeew by! Yesterday I had two old work colleagues over for tea and scones. Haven't laughed so much in ages! They stayed for almost 8 hours!!!! Laughed and chatted and laughed some more. Sunday was gone in the blink of an eye but it was absolutely lovely. I am a lucky lady indeed.

Monday has also shot past me. What a day it has been but it seems that this is the way things will be for the foreseeable future. The bright side is that the day goes by in a flash. The downside is that the day goes by in a flash!!! Ah well. It will be Christmas soon.....:eek:......God help me!!!

So I have been having something of an inner fight. I have transfered every spare penny to my cc - and I really do mean every spare penny. I have sort of put blinkers on and refused to look sideways at Christmas. This morning, I have grudgingly accepted that I need to use the cc to fund the costs of mailing two packages to the mainland and also to get some small presents. I have been resisting this to the hilt but I realise that I need to deliver all my gifts this coming weekend and don't get paid until Monday. Something has gotta give. Urg.

So, unhappy as I am, I will be dipping into that credit over the next few days. Dang it! I know I'll be paying a whopping chunk off it when I get paid but man I hate touching that thing.

On another note, after redoing my CICA claim, the consent form came through yesterday which means this should go through this time and I might just have some extra pennies at the end if this. Now that's exciting! Wonder if I'll be DF by the time it comes in and then I can just put it straight in the savings pot! Otherwise, I'll hammer the debt and either way I'll be happy!!

What a day! Ready to go home after a snotty telephone call with a company director I was trying to help, discovering not one but two erroneous payments from the other office (really, do our authorisers check anything?!), and watching lovely colleague almost come to blows with difficult colleague - although it would have been completely justified!!! Urg! What a day!

On a good note, my boss confirmed I am getting a bonus just not how much.....well, even if it's a fiver it's more than I expected so I am thrilled to bits with myself! Whoop! Hard work does indeed pay off! Happy lady!

I managed to buy two things for Christmas at lunchtime.......and one thing in a charity shop that I might be able to flip for a profit......we'll see! Right now I just want to go home to my pjs and a cup of tea!

Hi C-R and thank you! I had forgotten that Mr HOK3Y had a chunk of change in a savings pot in the US so that is making up the bulk of it currently but soon enough that will change. Thanks for travelling this wild road with me! X

Well bonus was confirmed today.....£500!!! Which becomes £340 after tax and NI......and that's £340 I didn't have before! Well chuffed!

Another rough day dealing with utter BS from a big name high street bank, although lovely colleague looked at me with her jaw down while I was speaking with them on the phone and said, "Good grief, you told them how it is!" I hadn't realised I was quite so forceful.....well, it needed to be said and now it needs fixing. Most unhappy with them at this point. Don't think they got very much of my perpetually perky side!

Meanwhile, I have only 8 more days until I walk out of the office for a 10 day break.....how bloomin' lovely is that!? Can't wait!

Found lots of coins at lunchtime - it seemed as if they were there every time I took a few steps at one point! I love days like that! Hoping for similar coin karma on the way home from the station!
