What a day but it is over and I am staring down just another 7 hours of work before holiday time!!!!! Ready, ready, READY!!! Happy to have got my bank to balance today after a tough day of searching for £31.70. It's a funny thing but even in a bank account with several million pounds of transactions and thousands of individual postings, you always know the number when you are down to the single last discrepancy and I knew that £31.70 wasn't a single transaction. Just knew it. Turns out I was looking for £526.70 which left me with £495 and as soon as I saw the £495 ping as my outtage, I knew exactly what it was. I love bank recs! Well, I do when they balance.
Must get the girls to try one in the New Year as they are not familiar with them.
Heading home to pick up some last minute bits and bobs. Tomorrow is my last day and also my work's Christmas party. I have nothing to wear - no lie. So I may try to find a cheap, sparkly jumper to throw on with jeans and a pair of heels. Tomorrow should also see some extra pennies hit my US bank to pay off the cc! Happy lady! As long as Christmas doesn't get too crazy, it should be paid off and gone next month.....forever!!!
Hubby has just called me to say he has found £1.01 today while I have only found 6p!! Must find some extra pennies floating around the town tonight...I must!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

Hiya brizzle and thank you! I am so looking forward to it. I woke up this morning and thought to myself that this would be the last day for a while that I would be forced out of bed before I am good and ready!
Well, last day in the office, Christmas jumper is on and my red heels are in a bag awaiting the party tonight! It's going to be a long day but it should be a good one so I am looking forward to it.
Meanwhile, only $10 made it to the US account so that will have to do. I am sure there is more that I can find!. Still need to look for roadkill today as it's been over 60 consecutive days of finds and I don't want to break my streak!! Uh oh. Just realised that Christmas Day might prove difficult. Darn it!!

I am officially on holiday!!! Woke up about 30 minutes ago, rolled out of bed at my leisure, made crumpets for breakfast and am sitting here polishing off a large mug of tea and feeling relaxed......although I have to go into town so that relaxed feeling may not last long.....:D. I am well pleased with myself as I bought a sparkly jumper from M&S for last nights party. It cost me £30 which I wasn't happy with. Anyway, I found a nicer one in a charity shop yesterday lunchtime for £5 so I'm taking the M&S one back!! I also spotted a crystal heart necklace which I knew immediately was on a sterling silver rope necklace. Asked how much it was and the lady apologized for it not being 'real gold' and said £3.25......DEAL!! Brought it home and dropped it into silver cleaner and it looks brand new!
Had the BEST time last night at my work's Christmas do - probably the best Christmas party I've ever been to. Great food, mellow company, lots of chat and giggles, just brilliant. I was very sorry to have to leave early to catch my train.
Still haven't packed so much as a pair of knickers for our trip and we leave this afternoon.......really need to get on that ball!! Just been reading through your diary and it's very inspiring! I am also a firm believer in asking the universe for things, although I haven't read the Secret despite hearing about it from watching that Pretty Wild show. I have a firm belief through my own experience, though!
I can't even believe how amazingly well you've done in such a short time, and I'm half tempted to give matched betting a go!
Enjoy your holiday and have a good Christmas!LBM moment Nov 2013

Hope you're having a great time and relaxing and enjoying all the facilities
What I would find very funny though is if you did drag yourself out of your holiday home and go wombling on Xmas day..that'd be both scary and so completely wonderful at the same time!! :rotfl:MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Oh hello everyone!
. Thanks BK, it has taken some extreme measures and serious determination but the results have been so worth it all. It will continue long past the point of debt free - for sure! Best of luck to you for 2014.
Thanks pap - having an absolute blast!
Hiya brizzle! Well, I have been wombling everyday so far and I can imagine there is a good chance of heading out Christmas day to see what we can find......we're a bit mad! The point of this trip was to truly relax and that mission is already accomplished: we both feel amazing. I'm not remotely bothered about Christmas day - it will be just another day of our vacation but with a roast dinner! So, yes, it's quite likely that there will be tales of wombling on the 25th!!
As for the vacation, it is going incredibly well. We are both feeling relaxed and mellow. The pair of us got into the gigantic high sided copper bath last night, switched on the jacuzzi function, and laid back with a glass of wine/whiskey and watched the starlight ceiling shift colours. Could have sat in there all night. Came out and started a fire, hunkered down together on the sofa to watch a movie. Just heavenly. Mr HOK3Y is currently napping in the bed that is set into a nook off the living room after fresh farm eggs and sausage for breakfast.
We spent yesterday at a massive antiques venue and managed to come home with nothing but a reproduction purple glass lantern for £4....pretty darn chuffed with ourselves and gobsmacked that I managed to resist the old cut diamonds!
I'm off to try out the sauna and jump in the shower. Not sure what we're going to do today but I know we'll come back smiling......and with wombled receipts! Lol! Well, I turned 40 today and in true MSE style, hubby was given a very modest budget so I wasn't expecting a pair of diamond studs but my goodness he made me laugh! I opened this lovely box to find a set of my favourite smellies from the BodyShop......plus a fistful of wombled receipts!!
