Morning H, Welcome to Monday too! You are doing great, and although you think yesterday was a little too much in cost - read your post again. You sounded really happy - and then you got to watch Ryan Reynolds in a film with your OH.
Little blips happen, but hey it makes you all the more determined for this week :T And great work on the wombling. I reckon at the rate your going, with Christams coming up and the number of receipts that will increase - you may end up with Christmas free:rotfl: Now that would be MSE :money:

    Have a great Monday X

I cannot even think where our "local" Asda is, Chesterfield perhaps.

So, there can be something worth keeping on receipts? :) If I go to the supermarket I ask they do not give me the receipt, in fact unless it's a bill for over £1,000 I always tell shops to throw it away.

What are we going to do with you, Alex?!?! :p

Don't worry about not being prepared for Christmas, despite having some of our decorations up and a "helping hand" from one of Santa's Elves, we are in no way, shape or form prepared. My parents on the other hand have bought all their presents already .... makes you sick, doesn't it? ;) :rotfl:

Yes, frankly, it does but I think that's jealousy talking! :D

You are right, Amberle, I did have a really lovely day with my hubby but I am finding myself incredibly protective of my money. I cannot tell you how hard I find it to buy anything I consider 'extra' these days! :D But I did have a lovely day and I am set for another lovely evening with him tonight.

And on another GREEEEEEAAAAATTTTT note.......I got to hammer the debt some more today! The car loan is one payment away from dropping under $10k and then I will have no debt of 5 figures!!! Yes!!!! I also managed to pay a small chunk off my cc so I am a happy lady. Now, can I wait for my main payday on the 16th and slamming a hefty chunk off the cc?? Barely!!! Very excited for this month and what I might be able to achieve.......oh so flamin' thrilled!!! :D:T:beer::T:D:T:beer::T:D:T:beer::T:D

d'ya know what? The OH said last night 'maybe we should slow down on the money we put towards paying debts this month'. He quickly threw away that idea when he saw my face!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Yeah, Alex, update your totals - you must feel so much better knowing you are tackling your situation so well. You have really come a long way. *HOK3Y doffs hat* x

Hiya C-R and thank you. :) Hahaha!!!! I can just imagine your hubby back pedaling!!! Mine would get exactly the same from me! We are doing it Honey :D - my payday is the 16th so mid month you and I are going to be dancing the debt busting jig!! Can't wait!

Meanwhile an amazing find last night on the way home made our evening: hubby picked up a scratched scratch card that had been discarded and it was a winner! We pocketed £1! On the way home, I picked up another one.......and it was also a winner with £10!!!!! Couldn't believe it! We have had some incredible luck lately! Thank you Universe!

So today will be more of the same and probably a mental day in the office. I have had visions of petrol bombing a certain bank thanks to the amount of work their new banking system has given me......not sure where the light at the end of that particular tunnel is at the moment.

But, I have a feeling it is going to be a good day for roadkill and w/r so I am going to do my damnedest to bring in the extra pennies. The month is off to a good start and I'd like to keep it ticking along that way through Christmas and to the New Year. I figure there must be loads of people dropping pennies at this time of year and not so many people collecting! :D

Lots of love and luck to all my fellow DFWs!

Oh my. What a morning we woke up to. Gale force winds and horizontal rain. Oh how I wished it was Saturday so I didn't have to go out in it! Sitting on the train now having been blown through the station. Not looking forward to the 500 yard walk at the other end!!

Had an excellent day with w/r yesterday - netted £10.40! Really hoping to break all records this month and definitely on track so far.

Meanwhile, the day in the office should be a touch brighter having got most of the banking problems resolved yesterday. I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to the weekend. It cannot come soon enough!!

Lots of love and luck my fellow DFWs!!

Aw thank you brizzle! The w/r definitely put food on our table these days - quite a lot of food to be fair! Just got to push as hard as I can and get rid of this debt utterly and completely, never to return! You don't have much longer to fight either looking at your signature. The end is in sight for us both! :T

Feeling reflective this morning after a long and unpredictable night. We all feel we have things hard and I suppose we do - it is all relative after all. But sometimes you come across someone who needs your help and by the end of it you wonder if they were the one sent to help YOU.

Mr HOK3Y and I were in PJs and getting ready for bed about 11.30pm last night when we heard a bit of a commotion down on a wooded path next to where we live. Pretty sure every home in the neighbourhood could hear it to be fair. We opened a window and could clearly hear a young woman screaming not to be left there and a man being incredibly rude to her. One look at hubby and we bolted for some clothes. Ran down to find them and things weren't looking good. Long story short, we found this girl laid out on the wet ground with some serious emotional pain on display.

We spent the next hour on the floor with her: Talking, listening, empathising, trying to get her to a point of feeling able to walk so that we could get her to our car and take her to the safety of her home. It took about an hour and a half to gain her trust so that we could get her home.

In those 90 minutes, she revealed the reasons for her pain and I can tell you they were staggering. I cried with her at one point although I doubt she would have realized. I think most of us have felt broken at some point and she certainly was and absolutely terrified of standing on her own - her entire foundation has been cruelly ripped from under her feet and she is very much afraid. If I could have fixed it for her last night, I would have.

I have woken up this morning thinking of her and how some of her words hit home to me. She has probably woken up thinking how two strangers came to help her but she probably doesn't realise what the two strangers took away from the beautiful young woman crying in the park last night.

For all those in need of a cuddle today, I have one for you - **squeeze**. I wish every one of us a day that is gentle on the inside as well as the outside.

I understand completely what you mean by this.

I hope the young lady will get the help she needs
