HOK3Y: I'm not that good at money saving yet that I don't have the heating on and yes, I should be out of the house now but don't want to sit in traffic (actually waiting for parents to pick son up). :rotfl:2018 totals:

Morning Hoks!!
Well done you for keeping the heating off. We've had to succumb because of the mould invasion that hits our bedroom every winter. So far the dehumidifier I borrowed has taken 10 litres!!!!! Still got the heating on timer and set to a modest 17 degrees for the time being. Slippers, dressing gown and blankets all at the ready to keep us toasty!
Good luck on the roadkill and trolly lolly today!!0 -
I was sat at mothers yesterday and she said "it seems very cold, do you think we need the heating on?" to which i replied "There's enough blankets in this room for all of us, leave it off until we're freezing with those on."
I did later complain that my feet were freezing and that if we had a dog they wouldn't be hehehe. We have been dog sitting until yesterday so whenever i have been cold i've just reached over and scooped her onto my lapit's miserable being dog-less again!

Lol Alex! Neither was I last year!!
Hiya wegs!! Been meaning to call you that for ages - I like it!We lived in a very damp house before we moved into the apartment and it ruined a lot of our belongings so I don't envy you that at all! Hope the dehumidifier does the trick!
Hiya crimson! I put a hot water bottle under hubby's feet last night......he was quite happy!

Well it is a little chilly in the house of HOK3Y but I am still not yielding to the thermostat!
Wrapped up in a fleece blanket with a toasty hot water bottle and a cup of tea! YAY!
Feeling quite chuffed with myself as I have just opened a first direct account and should net £100 at some point....bonus! Have been rather upset with my bank for a while and this is just what I needed to do to kick THEM where it hurts instead of the other way around! Plus, first direct have a savings account that pays 6% gross interest for a year......yeah, I'll be having a piece of that!
No package in sight for hubby's birthday so feeling a little frustrated this evening. They do deliver until 9pm so we shall see if they show up or not as instructed. Urg! Otherwise, it's been a quiet day all round for me but I'm hoping to entice hubby out for a walk later.....not sure how that will work for me as he will have been on his feet all day! We'll see!
Hope everyone is having a lovely peaceful evening.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

Hope you got warmed up crimson - hubby knows the feeling.....they just opened a new store which doesn't have heating yet.....he was a bit chilly!
Alex, you ain't making me jealous.....I have a secret plan for keeping me and Mr HOK3Y warm if it gets too cold......you can keep your fire.....I have my own!
Well, someone was kind enough to leave 2.10Euros and 50USD cents on the coinstar machine which were promptly snagged for our next trips! Also found 5p UNDER the coinstar, 10p in a parking machine and a penny in front of a counter. Not to mention the £1.91 from wombled receipts this evening. What a great end to the day! Mr. HOK3Y and I, my dear....
As for your fire, I bet it's on as it really is freezing here tonight and I believe you are further north than I?

Surely not as I couldn't remove Mr HOK3Y and say, "keeping I warm"?? Not that I would want to remove Mr HOK3Y.....he's far too entertaining to let go! Especially with serious boredom at this debt setting in!
Yes we are in North Yorks but almost in West Yorks -kind of bang smack in the middle of the land mass here. No heating on, no fire on, just me, Mr HOK3Y, a blanket and a hot water bottle.
