It did Mara!!!! I am honestly floored! Guess it really does matter who you complain to! I went from a manager who claimed she had spent an hour and a half unsuccessfully trying to get through to the Goole depot and meanwhile the package was already being put forward for private delivery through the regional manager - you can't say fairer than that. They just went above and beyond to fix it for me and hubby has already set up his new coffee machine and enjoyed his first cuppa! He's over the moon and so am I!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0

Well hello Friday and happy birthday to my wonderful hubby who is most happy with himself this morning as he has an endless (almost!) supply of good coffee! In fact, I've just got an ecstatic text message from him about cappuccino! So HOK3Y did good!
Meanwhile, it's Friday which automatically makes it a great day! Only a few hours left between me and the weekend. It has been a rough week in the office so I'll be glad to be done with it to be honest. Busy weekend with my best friend's party tomorrow but I'm going to have a blast and I get to see hubby all dressed up in his kilt - perfect!
Then next week I'll be staring down payday! I'm in the middle of switching banks which may well throw my debt busting plans for a loop for a week or two......we will see. Won't stop me bringing home the roadkill!
Lots of love and luck to all my fellow DFWs!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

I did crimson - profusely! It was extremely kind of her to sort it out for me and hubby's birthday was saved. When you consider that we buy things for ourselves very rarely, I so wanted his birthday to go without a hitch. I was very grateful for her intervention!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0

Going to bed a little devastated - hubby lost his wedding ring somewhere in town this evening. We have backtracked and scoured the streets. No joy. Reported to police and will post flyers tomorrow.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0

oh Hoks - I'm so sorry - I hope you both manage to find it? Is he sure he lost it out and not somewhere in the house? I'll keep my fingers crossed you find it.
I hope it hasn't put too much of a damper on things? I know you - you'll keep your chin up. And with your sharp eye for things - I'm sure you'll find it.

Hi C-R and thanks. Not found as yet. We were out until past 1am searching and I knew that there couldn't be a better person searching for it. I have been fixated on shiny stuff since I was a toddler and have found no end of jewellery - you all know I'm good at spying roadkill. That's years of staring at the floor for shiny stuff! So, I figured if I couldn't find it, it's rolled under something or been picked up by someone. I am still hoping the police will call with some good news. Mr HOK3Y is honestly devastated. Sat with his head in his hands when we got home and said he wanted to vomit. Just a bit traumatic all round.
However, for me I am able to spin some rationality on it and accept that it is material and replacable. I told him he would just have to marry me again....the third time! And, btw, he has now lost both rings from both ceremonies! If we have to replace it, the next one will only go on his finger with lotion!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
Well, I had to take a trip into town this morning to spend money......which I was MOST unhappy about. Tonight is my best friend's 40th birthday party which is GREAT but it required an evening dress and I no longer had any......so off I went. Found a lovely black number that was on sale for £51 so not too terribly awful. Then I needed to get her a present. I've driven myself crazy trying to figure out what to get her. Finally dawned on me - a new charm for her Pandora bracelet. Picked up an all silver one for £25. Couldn't give her something blah for her 40th! And I would have spent a lot more a couple of years ago so £25 is actually more than acceptable. PLUS it was her son's birthday 2 days ago (I really do hate November!) so I picked him up an angry birds scarf/hat/glove set, threw in a couple of bags of sweeties on special at £1 each AND used w/r coupons to shave almost £4 off as I bought it all in A$da! So, to be fair, it wasn't as bad as it could have been!
Next? My niece's birthday on the 13th and my son's on the 17th......good grief!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
What. A. Mega. Night. Good Lord!!!! Total blast!!! The woman is amazing! She did everything from the invitations to the table decorations PLUS the food! How she pulled it all off like she did amazes me! Wait until you see pics - I will share some once she has the professional ones done. Absolutely amazing! Had the best night ever! She even had a red carpet. Went by far too fast and I spent a good chunk of the evening on hubby's knee......much to the disgust of best friend's hubby who came by occasionally to remind us we had been married too long to behave this way........er, yeah, if we are cool with getting on our hands and knees in a public place to rifle underneath a coinstar machine, you have no chance whatsoever of getting me off his knee!!
Really want to do it all again tonight!
Well, I finally caved and turned the heating on. At least I tried. It won't come on! Thermostat is not talking to the system and I have a horrid feeling I may have gone through some wires when I put up some pics. So it looks as if I will be biting the bullet and calling the managing agents tomorrow......urg! Who puts wires behind plasterboard at eye level??
