Hi HOK3Y back from my hols in lovely NY - filey area to be exact and had a wonderful time with wonderful weather- great to see you are making your usual marvellous progress on the debt busting
Had bit of a set back this month and put some stuff on the horrid cc's but have been paid and still managed to end oct in less debt than I started and ready to renew efforts for a good finish to the year.
Sounds like you had some great time with your son hope it won't be too long until the next time
Hello scotdebs - glad to hear you had a great time because the weather in NY has taken a bit of a plummet as of this evening!!Hope you are feeling relaxed and refreshed and try not to sweat about the additional expenses - if you are still finishing the month in a better position than when you started, then it's all good! :T I so want to finish the year on a high (low debt!) note so between us we will just have to push hard for the final two months.

Well hello Saturday! I didn't bother greeting you until 10:45am but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!
Nice peaceful morning for me and a quick flick through FB led me to this beauty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YR4CseY9pk&feature=youtube_gdata_player - I have always liked Russell Brand because I have always known he is a rather intelligent man if you go beyond the crazy exterior. This interview is just genius and Paxman isn't even grasping what he is talking about in the beginning - he can't seem to wrap his head around what Russell is saying about not voting. I wanted to jump through the screen and explain it to him! Absolutely brilliant and worth a watch.
So what does the day hold for me? A little grocery shopping, some roadkill/receipt hunting, and some dreaded Christmas shopping. Urgh. Really do need to figure out what I am doing and for who!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
Feeling quite proud of myself - have just asked flubit to get me a better offer on the coffee maker the DH would die for. It will be for his birthday present in a couple of weeks. It is already 40% off on Amazon but we will see if I can get it even cheaper!
Forgot to say that we are off out for a rare pub evening tonight! A couple of the girls at work are raising funds for breast and ovarian cancer research and have organised a pub night complete with one of our partners singing with his band! Should be really good fun - very much looking forward to it.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
One present down: My son turns 15 in a few short weeks  and he has been wanting some rather expensive headphones for the last year. So, I have ordered them for him along with the carrycase. The cool part of this is that I ordered them from the US where they cost the same in dollar amount as they do in GBP so it saved me a bucketload of moolah. Plus I signed up for Amazon prime free trial and got 2 day free shipping - I'll be cancelling the trial before 30 days is up! Honest to goodness, my boy is going to freak and I LOVE that! I can rationalise the spend in that I don't get to do anything for him these days and I organized my tax refund at this time to cover the cost.
Waiting on flubit but still have another 4 people to buy birthday presents for this month......URG! Off to throw on some clothes and head into town.......Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

Hey HOK3Y!!!
I'm glad you're enjoying your time with your son! So brilliant to be able to treat him (especially offsetting all those roadkill receipts you've been finding recently!!! :T:T:T )
but - I love you HOK3Y but can't agree about Brand on this occasion!!he spouts highfalutin prose but his whole concept was un-thought-out - just remember all those men and women who died so that we could vote. I would never suggest that by not voting we get a better society! But that is just my opinion!!
I've been watching programmes on witch trials and hysteria this afternoon and by listening to charismatic people and unfounded propaganda is how these types of witch-hunts started!
anyway! hehe!!!! I saw your roadkill challenge - I'll be watching - I couldn't do what you do and find receipts without buying anything! I'm one of those people who goes browsing in a clothes shop and feels guilty walking out not buying anything in case security think I've robbed something - I'd be a nervous wreck doing the same thing in a grocery store!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: but I'll be cheering from the sidelines! :j:j
Two more months til the end of the year - lets bust those debts! hoorah!!!!

Hiya C-R! I think he would vote if he thought there was decent option to vote for and I definitely dig that point of view. The politicians are untrustworthy and out to line their own pockets (and their rich friends)!
Lol! I don't often go into the shop, I just walk around the car park.......and I have to say that I am waiting for one of their security guys to question me!I admit that I plan on using the long blond hair and blue eyes to my advantage at that point! Hehehehehe!!!

Feeling a little frustrated this morning. I am something of a sleep connoisseur and I was sooooo looking forward to gaining an extra hour of it and lying in late.......so how I ended up awake and out of bed at 7.30am is a matter of great upset.
So, I am going to put it to good use - I'm finishing my tea and taking an early Sunday morning walk into town on a roadkill hunt as I figure that lots of drunk people rolling out of the pubs last night means a good chance of finding some pennies!
Wish me luck!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
Well, after finding my first penny, the walk got cut short as it became apparent that a water infection was going to spoil my day - very fast walk home, call to out of hours clinic and instructions to head to the hospital to pick up a prescription (common occurrence, they just write me a prescription these days). Problem. Hospital is 2 miles away and I don't have the car. Bummer. Walk to the hospital in fair discomfort. Get prescription. About to leave but decide to check all the vending machines....find 20p on the floor! Score! Slightly happier about the trip at this point.
Leave hospital. Head to nearest pharmacy - desperate to take first pill at this point. Pay for prescription and catch sight of something between the counter and a small display fridge. Score second 20p of the day!
Head out to hit A$da on the way home........walking across green belt area with no shelter........hit like a steam train with gale force winds and horizontal rain......soaked through in about 30 seconds. Urg. Get to A$da, grab necessary shopping, find a receipt to check and a further 1p. Head home.
Vow not to leave the house for the rest of the day because if what I experienced is a taster of what is coming with this storm tonight, I think I'd rather watch it from the window of my nice, warm apartment!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0
