Oooooo, wegle! I earned my second star posting that last post on your diary!
Made me smile!
Yay for stars!! :j:j:j I'm still on one.Must post more!!!
Yesterday was indeed a NSD. Whoop whoop! Surveys are going well and I've definitely got into my stride with them. Even had a telephone interview last night that took about 5 minutes and I got paid £1.50 for. :j
My eBay sales look quite good. I've got 99p bids on 3 items. The first one only has 2 watchers, the second one 25 watchers and the third 11 watchers, so I'm confident they'll get a few more bids before they end on Sunday. 3 of the items have no bids and no watchersbut I'll just keep relisting if necessary.
Going to make sure I find another 5 items this weekend to list, I'm going to try at this level as it is manageable and doesn't feel like a big chore. It'll be good to start clearing stuff out of the house as well. Our spare room is chock full of junk and I can't even get in our shed! I have a mountain bike in there that I haven't used in 2 years so I'm thinking about selling that too.
Anyhoo... must get on with some work. Have a great weekend all! :T0 -

Hello all :j
Time to drop in after the weekend and update on progress.
The weekend has been fairly productive. I made about 50 custard tarts this weekend!! And ate a fair few as well! Oops! Oh well, at least adding to my waistline isn’t adding to my debt!_party_
My ebay sales went well and everything sold. I made a grand total of £44.50, exactly 1% of my total debt so I’m really chuffed with that. One of the items sold locally so the lady picked it up last night and I’ve put that £20 straight onto the CC. I’m glad she was local because it was a very heavy item and I was anxious about having to arrange a courier to deliver it because I’ve never done that before. The other items are smaller and I will get them packed up today and sent through Royal Mail. Once they have been delivered I’ll transfer the money from paypal into my account then straight to the CC!
Also a friend of mine who owed me £75 transferred the money to my account yesterday so today that has gone on the CC too! Feels good to be putting sizeable chunks onto the CC. Can’t wait till the end of the month when I can see the figure on my statement go down!
Hubby starts his night shifts on Wednesday for 2 weeks. Without being nasty to him I’m quite looking forward to having a bit of me time in the evenings. I love spending time with him but I also love to just spend time alone, with some music and a good book. He’s also looking into a new job at his company which would have him doing permenant night shifts, but it would only be 4 days a week and much more money than he is on now. Nothing is decided yet, but he’s going to speak to his boss about it today. Long term it would make sense for us, because when we do have children it would take away a lot of the issues of childcare etc. But that’s a little way down the line yet.
I’ve been panicking a bit recently. Our new car is due to be delivered in 4 weeks. When we ordered the car I had just got married and to process the finance application, they said they used my maiden name as couldn’t find anything in my married name. It all got approved and that was fine. Now that my name has changed I checked my Experian (for free! I promise!) and my file still only shows my maiden name but doesn’t show any of my open accounts as these are now all in my married name. This makes my maiden name file look really good as I have no outstanding credit and loads of settled accounts. I thought well I better check my married name. I did and this file looks awful! It looks bad because it only shows my current live accounts (CC, Loan etc), it doesn’t show any settled accounts and it doesn’t show me as being on the electoral roll as this is in my maiden name and they don’t update it until the end of October. I’ve contacted Experian to tell them the situation and filled in a form showing my previous name so hopefully they can get everything tied up. I’m just panicking because I worry that the finance was approved in my maiden name and I’m not sure if when they checked it had everything showing on it. I’m worried that when the car arrives they’ll go to process the finance and it won’t be approved!! Hubby says I’m panicking for no reason, but I’m not sure. If you have finance approved can it be revoked if you haven’t yet signed on the dotted line??_pale_
Anyhoo…. Best tot up where I am on all the challenges!!
No Spend Challenge
Still going strong on this one! Managed 3 NSDs this week. Not as good as last week but my overall spend for the week was lower than the previous week so still feeling good. Only 3 more to go to hit my target and there are 15 days left of the month so I have no worries about hitting my target and hopefully exceeding it! Checking my calendar there’s only 2 days this week where I think I will have to spend anything!
Sealed Pot Challenge
No money has gone into my sealed pot this week but I do have a load of change in my purse so I will empty this out later. This is a long term ongoing challenge so I’m not too worried that it’s taking a while to get there.
Make £10 a Day
Since the eBay sales have finished I can add £44.50 to my total! Yay! I’m pretty sure I’m not going to make this one as I completely failed at doing my 5 eBay items this weekend. I will try and get some done this week to catch up though! So currently we’re at £47.26. I thought about adding on the £75 I got from my friend, but this wasn’t actually making money as it was money I had previously lent out so I don’t think it counts. I’m awaiting a £10 pay out from one of the survey sites and I have a further £144.03 tied up in survey sites at the moment, a few I’m really close to hitting the pay out threshold so hopefully there will be a bit more before the end of the month.
100% Challenge
This is my favourite challenge. It’s such a great way to stay motivated and make the debt feel manageable. After the eBay sales and money from my friend I’m at 5.78%!!! I’m going to push really hard to get this over 10% by the end of the month.
To Sum Up
Total amount Paid to Credit Card: £198.76
Total amount Paid to Loan: £44.63
Total amount Paid to Overdraft: £13.94
Amount of Personal Spending: £57.59 (down on last week and had to pay out £18 for dentist so not a bad week!)
Custard tarts baked: 100s!!!!!!
So that’s my week. Nothing major planned for this week really, just a typical trotting along waiting for payday!! Boring!!!0 -
You have done so much and brought in plenty of extra pennies - well done you! I know what you mean about alone time. My hubby usually works a few hours later than me in the evenings and I love it. Didn't realize how much until these last couple of weeks when he's been working 9-5......and I've been a little irritable at not getting an hour or two to unwind in silence! So I know exactly where you are coming from!
You do so well on the survey sites - I keep getting screened out.. I've only got £8 on Vivatic and a little over £5 on crowdology. They just don't seem to work for me but Lordy you are going gangbusters!
Here's to another amazing week of debt busting - here's hoping you can knock another £200 off your credit card by the end of it! Wow Wegle you re going great guns with everything!
Just wanted to say re your hubby working nights, this is what we do and it works really well for us. I work 3 nights a week and kip in the day when DD is at school and DS is napping so we don't have to worry about paying out for childcare. It exhausts me but its a good solution for now.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

Men eh? Can't live with em, can't live without em!! I love him dearly but it will be nice just to do some girly stuff and have the whole king size bed to myself!!
I think it's the sheer amount of sites I'm on. I rarely get stuff from Crowdology and am no where near £5 with them. I do well from My Survey, Valued Opinions, Global Test Market, OnePoll and Opinion Outpost. But you've just go to keep plugging away!
I'm aiming for another £280 before payday!! I've got the money sat in my holding account. So as long as nothing goes wrong between now and payday that should be another good chunk!Wow Wegle you re going great guns with everything!

It would definitely work well for us. None of my family live near me and hubby only has his Mum & Dad who are both still working. I would definitely want and need to come back to work so childcare would be our only option, but if hubby can get onto 4 day night shifts this would save us a fortune! Anyway that's all in the future at the moment and I'll hear about it later after he's spoken to his boss.0 -

I have consumed so much egg custard this weekend!! Brought a few into work as well so I'm currently in all the boys' good books!!
The £10 a day challenge is really good, I'm finding it pretty tough though. Check out the full thread on it, some people make incredible amounts! Very inspiring!0 -
12 more items listed on eBay!!!!:j
Took forever though!! 5 of the items are the bunting I used at our wedding. 5 ten metre long strings. I washed it all ages ago and then just bundled it in a plastic bag so it all needed ironing. There's nothing I hate more in the world than ironing. Thankfully neither me or hubby work in environments where we have to wear shirts etc so the only time the iron ever comes out is if hubster needs to wear a shirt for a wedding or something and even then he's got to do it himself cos I hate it!!!! So you can imagine my joy at having to iron 50m of bunting!
It's done now though so hopefully it will all sell. I hope I've got the postage right. Royal mail's prices have gone up loads, and their new sizing guide is a pain in the bum!! I used to send everything 1st class but I've resorted to 2nd now because I'm not sure people will pay the1st class prices.
Anyway I need some dinner!! I'm starving!!!!!0 -
Oh and I posted everything that sold yesterday and put £1.94 in my sealed pot that was left over in my purse!!0
