I used Diall wood primer (b&q) and b&q colours everywhere range as i found the kitchen or cabinet paint too expensive and limited in ready made colours. We'll see how well it will last especially above the cooker.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Losing track a bit but finished my delish bottle of wine tonight so hope to be alcohol free until the end of the month from tomorrow.
I think I'm still within 90% of my targets which is still an A * according to the education people.
Giving up alcohol doesn't half increase the effects!

Love the photo updates Thrifty!
I've been geeking out and have spent the evening making my October 2013 Spreadsheet. I've added new images to it to make it a little more entertaining to gander at...
4 days until Pay Day!
Have acquired another SFD today so up to 15/18 Sfd's *dances*
PS. Really feeling this extended Christmas idea. I'm super excited already- really need to get my crafting on!:coffee:

Oooo just been number crunching and I have been overpaying into my Tax Account the last few months. I've overpaid by £25 in total- not a lot but still makes all the difference as it means I am actually £25 'better off.' :j:coffee:

Evening all. Another spend day for me today - a weekly bus ticket at £11, 4 pints of milk at £1 (L!dl didn't have any last night), and a magazine at £1.20 (which I obviously didn't need but I wanted - need to stop that next month).
No exercise for me today, but planning on an early morning run tomorrow. No alcohol and packed lunch at work.
My new totals are as follows:
Food - £89.01/£100
Misc - £109.57/£120
Petrol - £57.42
I am very close to my limits on all my budgets, but not planning on buying any more petrol before payday. I have a bus pass to last me until next Monday. I will need to top up at the weekend with a few fresh things to tide me over until I can do a bigger shop when I get paid.
This has been the first month for me, and I realise that next month I just need to plan my spend days better than I have done this month, and cut down more on any unnecessary spends.
Will check in again tomorrow.0 -
Evening all... am about to hit the hay but thought I would check in and confess a shop today that went over my budge a little so it went on the CC. It will be paid off on payday but am annoyed that I kinda said yes to feeding a friend tomorrow and didn't stop to think about the implications... BROKE MY OWN RULES!!!... although only by £3... however it still annoys me..
I am soaking chickpeas though to make little falafels though as they were cheaper than tinned ones.. aren't I good..(ish!)...
Right .. boring me is off to bed...;-)“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. I'm boring too NSK. SFD for me too. Work, brought lunch, had a little run after work and enjoyed a healthy tea of grilled salmon fillet (Ald* £2.49 for two), sweet potato mash and salad. It was delish! I'm going to try one of A Girl Called Jack's recipes tomorrow, rice courgette and cheese bake as I still have lots to use up from the garden. They seem to grow faster than I can eat them and there are only so many courgettes I can eat!
The kitchen cupboards look great Thriftylass. When they are all painted it will look amazing! Well done you for renovating them. I have watched Kirsty Allsop's TV programme about furnishing your home for free and there are some amazing things that can be achieved from pieces of furniture that look worthless but with a bit of paint, elbow grease and creativity they look fantastic.
Today's position:
SFD - 8/18 - Improving but still poor
Groceries - £203/£250
Alcohol-Free - 20/26 (2 parties and a holiday so not the full 30 days)
Exercise - 15/12 - Can I carry the excess over to my SFD total?
Packed Lunch 17/16 On holiday part of month but still ended up making lunch for days out.
Food Bank - 3/3Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
Sealed Pot Challenge #9 £162.98
Sealed Pot Challenge #10 £33.10

Another NSD and AF day yesterday. I too required a glass of something strong last night but resisted buying and settled into bed with meditation music instead(willing to try anything to relax).
I don't want to spend today but I have only 23 miles left in car of petrol and I'm afraid it needs topping up. However I'll still be within budget.
Exercise-really embarrassed can't believe how demotivated I am! Need to change for next month.
Hoping for a LSD.0 -
I shouldnt have written sept off so quickly, another sfd yesterday! Wish id added them up now.
It was my birthday yesterday and im £130 better off thanks to my lovely familywas very tempted to buy myself something small and pay the rest off debt/my daughters birthday party, but then i checked my bank account and was paid about £1000 more than expected!! Sounds stupid i know, but im largely commission based and have just started maternity leave so id lost track of how much was to come and assumed it was a small amount.
So now im going to keep my £130 for treats from me to me as and when i want themstarting with a box set (i never buy dvds!) and a new handbag.
Then im going to do my budget and throw it at my cc and take £300 out to pay for the whole of xmasStill here..... but working on that!0
