Had two spend days as expected. However went to Tesco's Taster night. Got to taste breads and pastries I'd never tasted before. learned a lot. Took a goodie bag home full to the brim included milk and eggs!
A little exercise the past few days and still need to donate to Trussell. I am taking a lot of new habits on I.e. ill no loner keep money in my purse unless absolutely necessary!!All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -

And the free furniture, thats grt! I loves free stuff!!
Amazing what people give away, or sell off cheaply.
Thanks! Someone's just offered me a sofa for nothing, looked pretty new too! I'm gonna have to take a picture of my fully furnished flat with total cost and put it on the Facebook page.0 -
Morning all - need to get my butt in gear today - finding myself procrastinating when I should be working - not good behavior! Have racked up another couple of SFD's and keep fitted last night so not all bad. Got to get some bits today though.
Ordered our heating oil and had the rayburn serviced - have been putting these off with the hope of selling but needs must and apparently we can sell our oil on which is good. Managed to get it for cheaper than last year which was surprising too -if I'd gone with the first phone call it would have been over £50 more for 1100 litres than where I ended up - madness! Anyway that's us warm till spring now - one tank per year - when it runs out its out and last year we managed to switch off with some left. The rayburn is older than me and it trugs away on its lowest setting keeping our mud house with a straw roof toasty - our EPC certificate may look awful but I bet we are cheaper to heat than most 3 bed houses!! The other novelty this year was paying for it out of savings rather than shoving it on the CC - please dont think I'm boasting - I havent forgotten what its like to have no other options but if I can get debt free then anyone can!!
Right work to do - love to all and well done on the swishing, furniture finding for free and all other good MSE practices!! I got a free bag of runner beans yesterday but not quite in the same league
Love LAGL xxDebt free on the 28/05/130 -
Living a good life - I can't wait until I've squirrelled enough away to pay for things in advance. Its a real achievement.0

Had a bit of a fallback yesterday with this
My Asda grocery delivery was due on Tuesday night and it didn't turn up! So I had absolutely no food in the house. I thought my husband was going to resort to eating the dog food with milk in his cereal bowl. Unfortunately this meant I had to buy lunch yesterday
But, after a lot of time shouting at Asda down the phone, the shopping arrived last night instead. Hooray! And now I have my sandwiches in my bag and officially on Day 12!Barclaycard (0% until May 2014):[STRIKE]£1,365.61[/STRIKE]£1,178.05

Been naughty and spend the money intended for lunch with my old boss on snacks and the like yesterday. Took a tenner out yesterday to go to the post office to post a letter to Germany. But as I can't be trusted with a wallet (that's why I usually don't bring it into work) I sneaked up to the canteen a few times and whoopsy nearly a fiver gone. Plus the lunch with my boss was postponed till tomorrow. However, I won't take anymore money out but counted my coppers and got £6 which I'll change to bigger coins tomorrow and use for the lunch.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

We've got a very dated dark wood 80's kitchen but obviously not the money to replace it just now, so I'm just painting the doors and putting new handles on. Might whitewash the walls too as I got paint left I think. It can get very dark and gloomy in the winter as the splash back tiles are red too and the floor is dark stone and the light is blocked out by the conservatory and the car port. Plus it looked a bit shabby and dirty. Loooove diy so can't wait to get back home and continue tonight.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Oooooh there is SO much going on here!! I went to my friends house yesterday straight after work - she made the most amazing thai noodle soup.. coconutty and spicy.. can't remember what it was called though....
We brain stormed about my travel... we ran through ideas... it was a productive evening... I got home just in time for a shower and bed by 10pm hence no check in....
Andrar when you start on the freebie path you just don't realise how much people really want to help you... you are doing so well so feel free to post pictures if you want...
Siouxsie32.... soda bread in my freezer that Mumsy sent over. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Are you familiar with the almost-as-difficult-to-find-as-a-tiger-in-Belfast treacle farl???
LadyMay ....SO????. What did you get??
MagicLily - if this challenge is making you think about your spending then my job here is done. Don't beat yourself up about SFD's expecially as it is your first month!! Am mighty impressed with one job starting and another being gained as we speak AND with kiddies... you are amazing!!!!
KarmaChi these cars you people all suffer with are driving you guys mad eh? Massive goodluck at the garage...
MrsO2B... okay I know exactly what you mean about "bits and bobs" being added in... I don't buy Pepsi Max or Chrisps because I am trying to be healthy - if they aren't in the house I don't miss them. But those odd moments at work where the cans are 55p and 40p respectively I could avoid as cans by the job-lot are between 25-33p each and crisps that I quite like are decanted from big bags of Tesco Everyday Value Tortilla @ 44p per 200g... massive savings. So I think I know what needs done..
Glad you and Mr Cobes are liking the challenges though... I am going to start plotting October now... make sure we have something to really get us moving...
LSD love this "under budget" chitter chatter from you ESPECIALLY since you have a new littler Dragon in the house... a few questions if I may.... is this number one? How do you feel about buying expensive clothing for baby? Do you feel pressured to have the best of the best? Do you feel guilty if you don't? Do you have other mother friends that aren't MSE'ers... ooooh I could go on but I shan't...
MoneyMash - I have fingers crossed for you - imagine a nice rounded £1000 return on the interest.... #gulp!... Oh I am a little jittery for you now....:o
Chickadee I LOVE the sound of your little getaway.. I was looking at ideas for my next birthday ( April ) and thinking a staycation is on the cards.. with Hercules the Bandit....you have inspired me...
Fyggy I am so jealous... think I might try and imcorporate the Staycation with a trip home next year... would be rather fun I think...although I am sure there are sanctions in place to ensure the limited export of soda bread per person...:rotfl:
Superdosa I am glad you mentioned the whole "getting prepped for Christmas"... and getting ingrediants in the house.... your budgets look goo though despite the SFD count.. although I think you are allowed the celebratory alcoholic beverage...:)
JazzyJustLaw.... now then..? Free taster?? Free Food?? How on earth do I get me on one of those...?
THRIFTYYYYYY where are you PICCIES???? :rotfl:
Right that is catch up I think.... I [STRIKE]need [/STRIKE][STRIKE]want[/STRIKE][STRIKE]need[/STRIKE]..yes need a new el'cheapo laptop....£300 max... IF I manage to get myself debt free by the 1st December..
I am booking as much OT as possible....ahem.....
