Greeting Chumlies... I just spoiled an SFD cause I forgot my soya milk... then a croissant and a pain au chocolat fell into my bag... and I wonder why I'm fat...
Anyhoooo.... One of my ebay items has been bid on - £9.99 thank you very muchos. Not sure what to do with it but I think it might go straight to my "debt" as I want to see those number drop drop drop asap.... a few other items that are being viewed but ignored...
So any done a "swishing" party?.. This is much different from a "swinging" party whereby one takes ones clothes off ones body... Swishing however is swapping clothing that one no longer requires yet is not wearing at that precise moment. You are then given tickets to comply with the value and condition of said clothing you brough in order to trade said ticket for another person's clothing. New clothes, no spending...? Any takers.... As I am about to drop items at the local charity shop and in dire need of new threads for work the penny-pincher in me says " hang on a minute sunshine.. why not kill two birds with one stone"... clever eh..?
[STRIKE]
I want a new laptop...
[/STRIKE]
So I am not reporting muchos else. Spending days calculating my DFD and how soon I can swing it around ... then I am thinking of the following 8 months and what they might entail in order that I leave work and the country for travels around the world.... brainstorming with a non-MSE (doesn't need to be) friend tonight to see what we can come up with..
Who else is doing a major non-spring clean sesson. I am just getting more and more annoyed by the clutter that I own. The last of my books are being "given" away soon - as a bulk for 99p on eBay.... I just want the space under my bed cleared...
Right enough witterings.... what's everybody up to today..?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
NSK - You should definitely try this swishing malarky! And report back! I've seen them come up a few times on moneysaving/scrimping tv shows. There do not seem to be any in my local area, but as you're based in London I reckons you stand a better chance of locating a swishing venue! Even if you do not find much that you like- you can still say you've experienced it!
I had an ebay sale a couple of days ago- one of my old Uni textbooks that I "found incredibly useful during my time at uni" (ahem may be not). It also sold for £9.99, the postage came to the exact amount I'd charged, (textbooks are soooo expensive to send!) and minus fees (I had it on Buy it Now), I'm left with about £8. I think this will have to go back to my car fund in which I nabbed some money from to buy the 'wicked' tickets. I'm due back some petrol money as well from a family member, which will go back into that fund. Just need to source another £80 to get my fund back...best start selling more as no OT available.
Hoping to get ahead on my CT payments, and have the years worth paid off by my November pay as well as reach my targeted DFD. This would free-up December-March's allocated CT payments from these pay packets and mean I can put the extra money towards my big holiday! *Fingers Crosses*
Really need to start seriously making preps for Crimbo Bimbo (I even have a crimbo bimbo badge that I wear every Christmas eve). I'm hoping to make the majority of my presents (Stalking Old Style Boards as we speak), but I suppose I really should start putting these costs into my budget... I should really start maximising my loyalty points as well with sainsbugs, Mr T's and B00ts with Christmas...*thinking cap on*
Today for me will mostly consist of...work, crimbly jolly plans and copious amounts of tea. *sigh* Speaking of things in abundant...where is abundant ???:coffee:

Yes NSK try the swishing thing. Getting rid of things you'd find hard to sell and getting new clothes at the same time. Great.
LoveaDove I've been playing with my budgets yesterday to incorporate christmas (food, pressies etc), but also must think about ideas more seriously. There are a few items I've got already on my list and hopefully some more survey amazon survey vouchers will come my way soon to pay for them. And I need to get crafting.
There is always sth else getting in the way though. Needed to fix my bike etc. But tonight I won't get distracted by tidying or anything but will make a start painting those kitchen cabinets and once they're done I tackle my tidy, clean, crafting etc list.
Lovely sunny day here for a change.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hello there!
DH has asked me to lead with him cooking 3 lovely curries with rice & chapattis for 8 adults, for under a tennerHealthy curries too I might add. We're over in N.Ireland now visiting the family (DH is N.Irish). We had a lovely anniversary weekend. Saw lots of seals whilst diving.
Next I have bad news to report- I didn't get the job I interviewed for on Monday. I came a very close second unfortunately. Sigh.
Nearing the end of the month now. Payday is in a week. Doing alright considering all the expenses this month. Had an unplanned expense, but luckily it won't need to be paid for until next month- DH has a filling that needs replacing plus a clean and polish following a check up on Monday. So I'll put in £75 in next months budget.
My totals-
SFDs 10/18
Fuel- 159/225. Quarter of a tank left. Need it to take us round NI this week and then back to Yorkshire on Sunday. So will need another fill up. My car has half a tank left.
Food- 107.18/150. A lot of these most recent spends have been stuff for going away. I think we may not need much more in this budget - just milk when we get home on Sunday. Some of this is beer, which DH usually buys out of his weekly pocket money, but as we're on holiday I've let this one slide.
Cash generating: 310/650. Unfortunately some tickets I was trying to sell for £60 haven't sold and the gig is FridayGoing to try again on FB, but I doubt I'll have any takers
There is £110 left in our bank accounts, so looking healthy for week before payday really
Right, that's me. Off to have another family relaxing day. DH drank all his beers last night so he's a bit poorly today. I foresee feet up in front of the fire with my book drinking teaDebt at LBM June 2013- £31,300

:oComplete numpty checking in.
KAT Just realised that when I started in this thread I posted up my SFD target as 18 for some reason along the line I have put down 26 for the rest of my posts. My AFD got changed to 26 from 29 as realised I had a few social events booked. Confused little ole me. So the question is now have I failed? or does my sfd target remain at 18.
So far my actual including today are
SFD 13 / 18 or 26?
AFD 15/26
Beauty 0/10
Petrol 40/60
Food 83.73/120

Well i've finally managed to update the signature and it's looking healthy! Reduced my DFD by a month too :j
This freebie thing is ace, people are throwing stuff at me! Got about half my list sorted, hopefully i'll have enough petrol to get around and collect it all. I've even managed to get my hands on a free armchair which is the one I was planning to save up for from Ikea anyways, so saved myself £300 there!
Can't wait to move but got so much to do, not ideal having no time off from work either. Luckily i'm just moving roles, still in the same company, so should be able to wangle some shorter days to sort my flat out once i'm down there.
Have a grand day everybody!0 -
