  • Dilemma ; an urgent email has gone out for a collection for the girl that is leaving. We are having a meal out tomorrow, yesterday's dubiously priced breakfast and she has only been here 4 months and is leaving on a promortion. In my book she doesn't deserve vouchers........ what say you good people, donate or make excuses..?

  • Morning all, for the last few days we've been trying to use up freezer food as it's packed yet there isn't anything we "fancy" in there. I've got too much frozen veg so I might try make something with those. I've got tonnes of sweetcorn so I think I will make some sweetcorn fritters maybe! Bought some suet at the weekend ready for when stew and dumpling weather comes around and need to chop some of my onions and freeze them for stews. They seems to be going a bit soft so need to use them up! xxx

Had a NSD yesterday! yay :)

Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!

Do you just chop them up and put them in the freezer? Didn't know you could do that! I'm learning so much today

She's had enough, say you've got no cash and don't give her anymore - harsh but its what I'd do

So simples... I boil a lot of them, add salt and pepper, cayenne pepper, an onion and lemon juice. Although this time it will be lime juice instead of lemon and a little nutritional yeast (vegan thing ) for a little cheezy flavour..... mix it all up and then pulse it with a hand whizzer.. I spread it on my wraps, add my home made kidney bean falalfel burgers and toms.. You might need to experiment with the amount of everything you add though..

Regards the house issue - Is the most expensive place the one nearest work so the off-set of no petrol would help or is it the other way around..?

Thanks - this is on my to do list for today!

The more expensive house is near work so no need for car but I've worked out I'd pay exactly the same in petrol as I do now if I go with cheaper one so I wouldn't see a negative change in my budget and I'd still be pocketing an extra £100 a month in a more modern nicer place. Think I'm decided on cheaper one! Now just have the wait to see if I'm accepted or not which is the worrying part as not sure what to do if not?!

    Good morning,

NSK I wouldn't contribute to the collection to be honest (or just fake it, i.e. purse rummage and shake of the collection envelop ;)

Andrar good choice, I'd have done the same I think.

    Lady May, good luck!!!

Thought today would be a SFD but realised I need to pay for the scan pictures today. At least I'll cycle up to hospital and won't need parking. Fingers crossed bean is ok, getting quite nervous now.

Yes, I think that's all you do. However, they do need multiple bags as otherwise, the smell permeates the whole freezer.

Could you buy them from the supermarket in advance? Asda are currently selling 6 cans for £4!

you can get a crate of 24 generic energy drinks at farmfoods for only £5ish...even more money saving and i find that they are just as good.
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

NSK: wallet at home? Only got enough for lunch? Otherwise, they'll be saying "there's change in the envelope" :D

  • Grrrrrrrrrr I'm so cross with myself!

Yesterday got DS2 hair cut as planned, then went to Wilko to get a few bits and greengrocers for some bramley apples, spent nearly £13. Then today my niece and nephew have popped over unexpectedly so I've bought some juice and pizza/salad cos I didn't have much in. £46 on grocery budget now gone and 3 spend days in a row :(

Did get a bit of good news though ~ College have changed the days DS1 will be going, he's now doing 2 long days instead of 2 1/2 shorter days so that saves me £10 a week in fares! I've reduced misc spends total because of this :j

    Have a brilliant day everyone!
