Oh I'm late posting here. I did writ a long post at lunchtime but I didn't press submit and when I went back to it and pressed the button I had been logged out. D'oh! Anyway, it's after midnight but I've not been to sleep tonight so in my book that counts!

    Final update for today:

    SFD - 1/18
    Groceries - £49.41/£250
    Alcohol-Free - 3/26 (2 parties and a holiday)
    Exercise - 2/12
Packed Lunch 3/16 (On hols part of month)
    Food Bank - 3/3

Did an hour session in the gym before work this morning. I like an early work-out, makes me feel smug all day. I know he gym is quite an extravagance but I use it a lot so I think I get my moneys-worth from it. I also shower there so I save on water and electricity at home too.

Lunch was celery and cream cheese sandwiches. Using up fridge supplies as instructed! Tea was Spanish Chicken with sweet potato mash and salad. I am determined not to waste food this month. I also donated my £3-worth of food to my friend who runs a community centre for disadvantaged families. I'm sure it will go to a needy family. I was quite surprised what I could get for that amount. Pasta, rice, tuna, kidney beans, soup, sweetcorn and I'm sure there was something else.

See you all again tomorrow, well today but YKWIM. :)

    Hi everybody,

Just popping by to wish you all well with your new month.

I fell off the wagon big style last month due to a death in the family and lots of unforeseen expenses, hopefully September will have a slight financial recovery but then October to be a difficult month as well.

So rather than wasting anybody's time I'll follow from the side lines and shake my shakey pom poms things with the best of 'em.

Good luck everybody with your goals.

    No 64 checking in.....
righto start of day 4 and i still feel up to the challenge, whereas by now i am starting to waver

    NSD 3/18
    Spends £15.40/£100
    Wine 0/20

wow only £15 spent and a tenner of that was on thing 3 school skirt, but its the wine wine i feel proud of myself.....*hangs head in shame and mumbles* i found that i was drinking nearly every day..not good
oh and i have not done any exercise...yet, well i do have the intention but i dont have any dvd or even a dvd player lol so i use youtube and there is some cracking workouts, but everytime i switch on the computer i end up doing more of my NVQ, and after procrastinating last year i barely finished level 2 and level 3 is even harder and a LOT more work, so surely that counts for something. but i solemnly promise that the exercise will be done next week when all of the things are back in school
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

Good Morning all.... What a lovely day in London Town it seems to be... apparently will be super warm as well today... :j

My 75p loaf was dinner last night ( naughty) it is also breakfast in the shape of sandwiches today (naughty), I have beans for lunch (again) and another round of sandwiches if I get really hungry ( boring)..

I am out of basically everything and loathe the expensive Tescos near work (cucumber = 89p).. I can't get to Lidls for a cucumber (49p) so will make do with the toms I pilfered from LLL's plant and make up some burger thingys tonight to eat with my last two slightly stiffened wholemeal wraps.. I might make some pea humus as well with frozen peas, limes and cayenne pepper.. who knows.. it's time to get inventive...

How are we all feeling then? I know some of you have had some unforseen expenses already but it's part and parcel of that learning curve.. if you fall off the horse just get straight back on... if you haven't broken something important..:T

Chickadee the amount of time I have done the same thing is enough to make me cry.. Kerfuffle... HELLO and welcome to Facebook even if you lurk here it's great to have you back!!

Maddie rehearsels for what?? Are you auditioning for "lunch maker of the year"..?:)

Little Miss I like your raiding plan. I have my Tesco basket planned and although it goes over what I want it too I know the porridge oats and such like will stretch into 2 weeks so it will balance.... don't feel bad, NSK feels your pain...:o

Lady May - GOOD LUCK TODAY!!! :j:j:j

Mrso2b - I was hoping you were going to say that.. I think it was super annoying for a while and then I got so used to it a new phone was a novelty. Then i dropped that within a week...:(

CCC you must get on FB with a picture of the entire puddytat batch of food with a puddytat in the shot...the worst thing ever is to lose an SFD cause the moggies are starving - I understand your need to stockpile... my puddytat food costs £26...:(:(.. it's called Orijen.. Dorothy loves it, my purse does not..

Abundant NOOOOO chuck it all out! Otherwise if you have your receipt that is your proof - bring that trash back!!! I am going to google tempeh now - didn't realise it was actually tasty - unlike tofu.. why are you eating meat anyway - have you not googled the amazing feat of the worlds best known vegetarian bodybuilders...? Do it Do it Do it Do it and join Facebook and come play with us...teehee..

Right on that happy note I am off to google tempeh... :T

    EDIT - That was quick = http://www.freshtempeh.co.uk/Buy-Tempeh.htm

So simples... I boil a lot of them, add salt and pepper, cayenne pepper, an onion and lemon juice. Although this time it will be lime juice instead of lemon and a little nutritional yeast (vegan thing ) for a little cheezy flavour..... mix it all up and then pulse it with a hand whizzer.. I spread it on my wraps, add my home made kidney bean falalfel burgers and toms.. You might need to experiment with the amount of everything you add though..

Regards the house issue - Is the most expensive place the one nearest work so the off-set of no petrol would help or is it the other way around..?

  • :)Good morning everyone! I've been a bit rubbish so far, oh bought a M&S meal and wine last night as a celebration to the end of all the summer visitors we have looked after (we live away from family near the coast, so they seem to see us as a free holiday with the excuse of seeing the kids) its hard work as last visitor (oh's Dad) does nothing to help, gets up really early and is sat at the Breakfast table waiting to be served in the morning :(
Doesn't help the budget either, but what do you do without causing upset?
Anyhow, that was unplanned alcohol for last night, must try harder!
Went for a lovely long walk yesterday though, around 2 hours, so will count that as my exercise. :)
Hopefully will do ok on the food front this month, as I have some supplies in the freezer and cupboards, and a lovely harvest of plums and blackberries in the last couple of days will be utilised. :)

    Paydbx 2016 - £6487.31/£7000 = 92.67% - number 74

This would annoy me SO much. Men of a certain age clearly think it's their right to be served by whatever woman is available - my Mum said to me once "when you get married don't do everything for him, make him cook as well"...:rotfl: What would happen if you walked right by him and didn't serve him..?
