  • Hello all!

Uffff my car this morning let me down! So I stayed and did some unfinished work at home instead! I also organised the cupboards and I found I got about 10 bags of basmati rice! Plenty of food! :-/ I did not realised...
Anyway, what is all the newsletter about?

Man how hard is it to have a spend free day
  • Evening everyone.
SFD #2 today. Need to top up milk, bread and few packed lunch bits tomorrow but should be able to stay within weeks budget. Fridge and freezer both looking rather empty but going to keep stretching it out for a few more days. More crazy tea concoctions heading this way!!!

  • quick drop in:
    spend free day - done
walk to and from work - done
no alcohol - done (even the OH managed it!!!)

Had a nap and the OH bought a curry while I was sleeping from his 'fun money' - he's a naughty man but no impact on our joint grocery budget.

going to try and stretch it and not do a shop til Thursday but i'll need some essentials by then - milk and cheese.

Instead of buying chocolate I ate some jelly from the cupboard (unmade jelly) - wow! just wow!!!!! hahahaha!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Officially kicked! :naughty: (I couldn't find one that looked like someone kicking something so I went with shaming you instead)

    Will start exercise regime tomorrow.

    A little about me

Primary teacher, mother of twins 6yrs into a large mortgage £120k and am finally feeling the squeeze.

Savvy with tarting c.cs and saving through threats e.g sky however now feel like all bills are swallowing me lowly wages.
I needed motivation to be thrifty and save those pennies I waste.

So far it's working-I am conscious of the need to rise to the challenge.

    Day 3

Went throught the freezer before the 1st day and found some chicken I had confit' but was far too salty..so experimented with it, using it with veg and the salt was drawn out into the veg making a great casserole...!
Nephew turned up for a cuppa..that smells great he said..ate loads..
So my plan of freezing most has turned into two nights supper only..:(

Busy day turning out my shed and throwing away the boxes the mice have chewed ..peed in ..nested in..shed needed a sort out though..

So a spend and a alcohol free day again today...is it really only 3 days without a cool glass of white :o

Quite easy this ..3 days really.. :rotfl:

So not a sfd for me but I knew that going in so kept it low spend...until I drove past a shop on my way home and got bread and some value mini trifles to treat myself with after a hard day. It did come out of my food budget but still grrrrr at me.

I did 11 viewings today and including travel there and back it was a good 10 hours, I'm cream crackered! Now stuck between two flats, £100 difference between them per month, ones on works doorstep so I would never need to use the car so save on petrol. The other is 15min drive away but nicer and has bigger kitchen for my baking exploits which is big part of my life. The two people I asked for advice said go for more expensive one as its better being able to walk to work and not need to use car but I keep thinking £1200 at the end of the year more expensive, I'm so confused and need to make a decision by tomorrow morning argh!

    So that's where I'm at
