Mine shows instantly as long as I log out of Sainsburys and then back in again.
    What about at HBOS end?

Transfer shows instantly without having to logout and in again.

You must set it up as a "Transfer to another account with us" to do this though. Is that what you have done?

Hi Jem. No I didn't either end. System must have worked it out though to have credited same day.
Don't know whether to delete payment mandates and set them up again as " accounts with us" or not bother now.
  • I 'opened' an internet account with Sainsburys and have now begun to regret it. I activated the account as instructed and changed Password and ID for security purposes.I then attempted to log on to my account using my new details. It locked me out informing me that the information I entered was incorrect (which of course, it wasn't). After numerous phone calls telling me to wait for e mails with new access codes to reactivate the account. They have given up: I have been told that I will have to operate the account by post!

I have made sure that their email address is in my contact list; checked my spam/junk mail folder and ensured that my settings have not filtered out any mail. I have three other internet accounts that present no problems whatsoever. The tiresome phone recorded phone calls/security proceedure make it more trouble than it is worth. What is the point of having an internet account if you have to write letters and use snail mail to use the service for changing details and communicating with the bank.I have no option but to vote with my feet.

I'm delighted with their service, transfered 15k within 2 working days, both wife and myself have seperate accounts with them. The only thing I don't like is their awful green coloured font for the account amount

I've just received my letter and activation details through the post and I've successfully activated the account.
How do I know if my electronic ID verification was successful, and if my account is fully open or "awaiting authorisation"?
I don't want to deposit the money if the account is not fully authorised yet and I won't be able to withdraw it.

Well, you could just deposit a small sum - say £5 - and once you see it is in the account, you could transfer all or part of it to your bank account. Once you see that the transaction has been made successfully you will know whether your account is functioning as it should.

That is what I did, and it proved successful. :T

You won't be able to 'immediately' send it back, because their online system won't let you set up a payment mandate until the next day. ie, the first deposit has to 'register' overnight - despite it showing as 'available' - based on my experience today with my first deposit (and verified by their online helpdesk).
  • If after logging in to your account it states "awaiting authorisation" then you can only deposit funds. If that message isn't there, you're up and running.
That's what happened with my account anyway.
