I had have two letters from lloyds bank asking for me to claim for a refund. It is in my previous surname and I thought it was just Jung mail and threw them both out. I can't even remember if I had the protection or not..... Any ideas anyone please? Thanks0

I'm glad I read this thread, it all makes sense now. I had PPI and card guard protection on my HSBC credit card and I applied for a separate refund at the end of 2011. They gave me just under £300. Last week £700ish appeared in my account out of nowhere so I called HSBC and they told me they reviewed my original complaint and amended it. They took a little tax off me but for unexpected money I'm not complaining. Finally paid of my overdraft :j'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0

Hi
I received the form, filled it in and sent it back, but last week I had a letter from NatWest telling me my NatWest card protection policy will automatically renew in June unless I cancel before then.I do not want to continue with the policy at a cost of £89.99 for 3 years but if I cancel will this affect my on-going claim. Can anyone advise me please.0 -

i have asked the processing team for a copy but they could not help apart from informing me it was for an MBNA card ( surprise ).
i contacted MBNA who have told me to contact the CPP process team.
i am now going dizzy, does anyone have any suggestions regarding which template i should use......
does anybody ever read these posts and offer help ?

or is it just a forum for success stories ?

still hoping for a response...............0 -
So here is my next question: why do I have to pay Income Tax (automatically deducted before you receive your cheque) on money which I paid in the first place, on which I had already paid Income Tax at the time of payment? Doesn't seem right? Anyone got any theories on this?
By the way, in case it is helpful for anyone; I got one letter about claiming in my previous name, at my previous address, one in my previous name at my current address and one in my current name at my current address. I took the trouble to write the scheme a letter outlining my change of name and addres, and send a Certified Copy of my Marriage Certificate, with all the 3 policy numbers; and they processed that very quickly, so all the claims (and therefore any resulting cheques) would be in the correct name and address. Result, as I have received 2 cheques back already. Worth the trouble!0 -

You pay tax on the interest just as you would have done if you had placed this amount in a Bank account etc. You haven't already paid tax on it. No "theory", fact.0 -
