Sent in my claim about a week before the closing date. Hadn't heard and was beginning to think I'd missed the boat. Then a cheque arrived yesterday for £540 :j
Thanks MSE :T0 -
Sent in my claim about a week before the deadline. Used template from MSE. Cheque arrived yesterday for £499 :j
Thanks MSE :T0 -
In addition to all the above :silenced: I am happy to report this morning, reception of a cheque for £227 and some pence.
Thanks to Martin of MSE.com for providing the template letter. It made claiming very easy. :beer:0 -
Anyone know of a template for claiming pre 2005? For some reason I have already disposed of statements prior to that year.
It was Nationwide that first introduced me to CPP.0 -
Hi,
Please has anyone had experience of claiming from HSBC.
I called HSBC and asked for £450. The response that post 2005 would not be considered and pre 2005 (1994-2004 ? ) could be 'dealt' with. This immediately reduces claim by £200 as the policy was cheaper pre 2005.
Additionally asked questions about what details I knew of CardGuard policy and what was provided by it, as if I could have obtained some benefit from it which was not miss-sold.
They will now send me a questionnaire to fill in about details of point of sale of the policy ....It has annoyed me as so obvious a formula to find a reason to justify not to pay anything, so I will send in template and stick to request of full amount pre and post 2005.
HSBC also told me I couldn't claim post 2005 as that was what was decided by the High Court in January 2014, and applications were only allowed until August as that was the court's decision...as if they couldn't pay if they wanted to !!!
Thanks for sharing0 -

HSBC won't be paying for anything post 2005 because they have no liability. CPP won't now be paying you either as you are two months too late.
Why not read the first few posts of the thread? You'll be far better informed, but sadly disappointed.0 -
Gosh, I'd practically forgotten about my CPP claim (submitted just before the deadline thanks to this site!) until I came across posts here. Glad to hear of everyone's successes!
So far, it appears I've not heard anything back myself, but wondering now if I've set the letter aside (assuming it's arrived) believing it to be some other banking stuff. A lot of stuff got moved around when we were decorating the office which I need to sort through. What did letter look like, please? Did it incorporate the usual red logo?
Many thanks!0 -
Saracena, mine was in an A5 white envelope with Private and Confidential on the front. The back had an address, the first line of which was 'Scheme Processing Services Limited'. Hope this helps0

That's very helpful. Thanks very much. Can't say I actually remember anything like that but will have a hunt around nonetheless, since a lot of people (on here at least) appear to have had a response at this point. If all else fails I can give them a call on Monday. Cheers.0

Just a quick update. Having not come across any correspondence during my sort out yesterday, I called CPP this morning to learn mine is due to be sent out tomorrow. I was relieved to hear this, as having just come back from holidays only managed to post the claim on the day before the August deadline, using a first-class stamp!0
