Following the advice & templates offered by Martin I submitted my claims to both CPP & my own bank, HSBC, whom I purchased the cover through originally. Still waiting for a reply from CPP but received a letter this morning from HSBC saying that they are unable to uphold my complaint. Letter then goes on about a 14 day cooling off period, etc. Is it now worth taking the matter further?0

A cheque from CPP for £218.99 arrived last week! :j Filling in the claim form to the cheque arriving took about 4 weeks. Now, I just need to go into battle with HSBC about the 1998-2005 portion of my money! They have already said no once, but I don't think I'm going to take that as a final answer! x
I'm in the same boat as you, micwil. Just received the knock back letter from HSBC too & wondering what steps to take next. Has anyone taken the matter further & got anywhere? Any advice, anyone?:(0 -
I received claim paperwork automatically from CPP and I have already completed a claim for my card protection policy with CPP and am waiting to hear from them. However, I have a second policy for Identity fraud protection which CPP have not sent me paperwork for. Can I make a claim for this too if I instigate the paperwork myself?0

On the form from CPP I have t oexpalin why I should get compensation. My only idea was to write that I wanted compensation because if I was due it then they should pay me it (then do an extra bit to say if they wanted more information they should let me know and also give me more details on why they had contacted me). Then having done a search online I find out there is all these templates for replying - but all these assume I know exactly how I was mis-sold.
So all those of you celebrating how much money you got back - how do I find out more information on how I was mis-sold card protection?
Yep - my forms offer absolutely no clue either. And I am almost certain I would not have had it as I am very money savvy and always have been.0 -

When you received your paperwork from CPP, how did you work out what it related to?
How did you know that it related to one of your policies and not the other?0 -
I am not sure how to do this but here goes My problem is that I have the letter from CPP but actually I am not sure which card it is about I phoned them but they said they were not allowed to give me any advice about how to reply so now I have absolutely no idea what to say about why i think I am claiming Help!! He did say only one sentence would be enough and that it did not need to be too detailed but I really am at a loss and would appreciate any advice Thanks in advance0

I have just spoken to CPP on the phone and they at least were able to tell me which card it was related to, but as you found they do not want to give out information on what was specifically wrong with the cover. Again the guy indicated that not much detail needed to be given.
So is this stuff about using template letters a waste of time?
Is there a much simpler and more general reply that can be given. For example, "I want compensation because it is clear from the fact you sent me a letter that you know I am entitled to such a payment."0 -
Got my cheque last night for £75
a welcome amount this month.
