When I first heard about this I dismissed it as I didn't think I would be eligible. I paid for the card protection in association with my M & S credit card. The benefits quoted to me were the ability to cancel all cards together if i lost them. I also had labels for my keys and luggage so they could be traced back to me. I finally cancelled the policy last December.

I didn't get a letter about it at all. Is it worth trying? i have no prrof of what I was told when I first took out the policy

the policy activated in 1997. As CPP were not regulated then they are upholding my complaint but not refunding payments made.
    Have contacted FOS for advice.
FOS have no jurisdiction over complaints prior to regulation.

the impression I was given was that this was a necessity to have this policy to register my cards in case they were stolen again.
I feel like I was taken advantage of to take out the policy at a vulnerable time.
This is just a "hearsay" complaint for which you can provide no evidence. Include this if you want, but it will have no effect on whether they uphold your complaint or not.

i took out the policy might be from 1999/2000 or earlier
Prior to 2005, you have to complain to your Bank as the CPP scheme does not cover the earlier period.
My policy runs till 2015 should I cancel my policy now before I claim or after I receive any conpensaton?
It's entirely up to you. Cancelling will have no effect on the success or otherwise of any complaint.

If you didn't get a letter it's unlikely you are eligible for the CPP scheme and you will have to approach Marks & Spencer with any complaint.
    You can check if you've somehow not received any letter that has been sent by following the advice here;

I still have no letter from CPP even though they said to me on April 17th that there is a letter has been issued.

I like reading the posts about the cheques you guys have been receiving, but never seen a post with saying 'received a cheque for £x dated y April'

Would be a good idea to wait until I know the postie has been tomorrow and ring CPP if still nothing? That would be 7 posting days.

My claim forms were submitted 19th March and I received the incorrectly addressed cheque on 24th April although the delay may have been caused because I had no supporting information.

    Hi,

I have had CPP for about 15 years and I claimed after receiving their letter and used the format from this website and have just received £290 which only goes back to 2005, because the rules and regs were different then.

Yes Citi card has upheld pre 2005 , not been refunded yet but the 21 days they told me to wait has only just expired .
