I thought chocolate was poisonous to animals, I know it is to dogs and cats.....
Not sure about that.
Dogs CAN eat most chocolate. I believe it's something in pure 100% chocolate that is harmful. There is b*gger all actual chocolate in Hershey's garbage anyway so I doubt it would be harmful unless it was in massive quantities.
Not that I think that feeding them to a badger is a sensible idea though.0 -
"Even" like Asda Smartprice??
Well, it's by far the best budget supermarket chocolate!
As a HUGE chocolate fan, I tried all the supermarket's budget choc last year as some people kept (and keep) saying how nice they were.
Well I found all of them to be absolutely rank - except the Asda one. In a different league to all the other ones - it was actually edible and even very pleasant, creamy and Galaxy-like.
A few other people on here said the same thing and mentioned how they were always out of stock so word must have got out.
Sure enough, it took 3 attempts to actually find some in stock and I soon found out why. A bargain for sure and a nice treat if you're superscrimping but would still like some occasional choc.
I agree about the Asda chocolate. When I see it I stock up. Use the 70% ones in cooking, too. I used to eat chocolate every day but now it's rare that I do.
It's nice to have it in the cupboard though.0 -

I use any of them which have a fruit smell.
This made me smile.
To me it smells like childhood and reminds me of my mum. For years and years this was the only "smell" available. It was this or nothing.
My mum is a little stuck in her ways, so still buys Fairy Original, despite all the much nicer fragrances on offer.
I recently did a blind test on this for one of the survey sites. I knew the moment I opened the bottle what brand it was! :rotfl:
I've stuck with fairy myself, mostly, over the years, but have branched out into the other smells. The pomegranate one is probably my favourite.Because it's fun to have money!

Quilted, Aloe, scented, moist (!), Shea Butter and most worryingly, 'lotioned' toilet roll....what have we become?
Haha! A year ago, I'd have agreed. Until I had a brilliant voucher for Andrex Quilted... It is so thick and lovely. And "lovely" is never an adjective I thought I'd use to describe a loo roll. I won't buy any other brand now, but do only buy it when it's on good offer, then stock up.
Because it's so thick, you don't need to use as much. For instance, one sheet is more than enough for a wee.Because it's fun to have money!

especially the dark raspberry squares! I always bring a bagful back when I go to the USA.
I do love Moser Roth from Aldi in between though!
Yeah, Ghiradelli is nice, but Hershey's is rank. I lived in Southern California and was told they put something in it to stop it from melting too quickly (don't know how true that is though) It made me laugh in the run up to Easter there was a massive ad campaign on the telly for Creme Eggs, they were actually cheaper than what we pay here, despite being imported.
I agree with buying tuna steak, you seem to get more for your money than chunks.0 -

Too true!
It amazes me how many people laugh about paying more for decent loo roll but at the same time "insist" on having only flipping Twinnings tea bags or Heinz ketchup and baked beans and loads of other stuff that you can easily get much cheaper versions of that taste almost exactly the same.
I've tried almost every brand of cheap loo roll going (Aldi's rubbish being the latest - one of Aldi's few disappointments) and every time they either fall apart because the ply's haven't been rolled properly or they feel like a cat's tongue on your bum.
Either way, I've yet to find any cheap loo roll that lasts a decent amount of time and I do think it's worth paying a bit extra. The supermarket's own brands are perfectly fine and often on offer for £1.50 - £1.75 for a 4 pack.
Lidl sell the Cushelle 24 pack for about £7 or so every couple of months so I buy these - luxurious and a bargain!0 -
Have you tried the quilted toilet roll from B&M stores which is £2.99 for 18? This is my weapon of choice - really impressed with it and a pack lasts forever.
I haven't - and a B&M opened up near to where I work recently so I'll give those a go next time I'm in there. Cheers!:rotfl:0 -
The badger gets tinned dog food and peanuts as recommended by Badgerland mostly. If he leaves anything the foxes have it.
I buy Andrex Eco, nouvelle or Velvet on offer - Andrex Eco is mostly recycled + bamboo, nouvelle is recycled and Velvet plants 3 trees for every one they use. OH would moan forever if I got cheap thin loo paper.0 -
Remembered another couple...
Bought cheap 'cling film' which was called 'food wrap' - not suitable for use in the microwave so no use if you use it to cook veggies etc this way.
Smartprice dish cloths - end up as long stretched out useless things after the first wash, haven't bought again.
Wiseman dairies 'The One' milk - skimmed milk with semiskimmed flavour apparently - not in my book!
Flash with febreze cotton fresh - smells like cat wee to me  Zoflora linen fresh is much nicer.
My mind is boggling at the milk. How? Why?0 -
"the one" milk is 1% and tastes fine in tea to me, same as sainsburys 1% and I can't tell the diff from semi skimmed. I can't stand skimmed milk at all so this is a good compromise, semi skimmed is 4% fat. I suppose its all a matter of personal taste.0
