Hair dryer, pull the bag carefully down over the baskets run the hair dryer over the bag until tight and then cut off excess and either the cellophane will bond to itself underneath or use a small bit of tape (don't cut of excess until nearly all shrunk tight or you may find the bag to short).Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -

I'm a happy person today. I hadn't heard anything about the wicker baskets on Freecycle, so I assumed thay had gone. This morning, though, I received a text telling me where I could collect them from
I've been for them, and there are several baskets of different materials and sizes, plus some wicker flower rings, mini straw hats, and a hanging mini house to put a plant in. I'm delighted!
On a slightly different note, for those wanting to make a pamper hamper, Dunelm Mill have some matching items in their sale. These are all in boxes, and come in peach or white microfibre. Price shown is the price I paid, all we're half price and bought this morning:
Hair wrap 99p
Wash mitt 49p
Bath sponge 39p
Exfoliating bath strap 49p
Pack of two facial cloths 49p
Pack of two eye pads and one finger mitt for cleansing 49p
My daughter is going to put them into a hamper with some bath bombs and a bottle of bubble bath and a face mask for her friend.
Also in DM, a heart shaped bird feeder, the sort you hang fat balls on, 64p, again this is half price. It's going into my mum's hamper.0 -

Dunelm Mill have 30% off silicon bakeware at the moment, although some things might still be cheaper from Home Bargains. There is also a new part work magazine out, something about baking and Disney. The first one is 99p and has a large Mickey Mouse cookie cutter and two other freebies (can't remember what though). Might be worth adding to your bakery hampers.0 -
The other things inthe new Disney cooking mag are Winnie the Pooh stencils. My youngest ds saw it today and kinda fell in love with the mickey cookie cutter. Guess what were making tomorrow?!
meadows I would be delighted to receive that hamper it looks fantastic!
In asda today they had M&M mugs at £1, the yellow (peanut?) ones. Would be good for a chocolate hamper or you could buy the mug and stick a big bag of the M&Ms in for emergency gifts, kids schoolfriends or stocking fillers (my mum Bought both as a stocking filler for my nephew)
When my mum turned 50 I did her a '50things for your 50th' hamper, instead of a wicker basket which would have been too small, I managed to get a set of three hat boxes, they were green (her bedroom colour at the time) flocked damask.
My mum was really impressed, not only with the gifts but with the hat boxes too she used them as decoration in her room until this year when she redecorated, the. Gave me them back incase I wanted them for none else.
What Im Trying to say is, keep ur eyes open for alternatives to wicker baskets as they can be expensive and not always the correct size.Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -

It should work out to more sweets for less money than buying selection boxes I think, and be lots more fun for them
I saw a good deal on a children s book called 'The Pirate Cruncher' on Amazon. It's £1.75, reduced from £6.99. I thought it might be of use as you are making a pirate themed hamperIt has good reviews and looks really good.

kingfisherblue- that's fab re the hampers. :T
I too love the shinkwrap bags. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with hampers. I adore the concept that they are personalised to the recipient and that they look expensive whilst not being but though I think they look pretty finished, I dislike that the contents are on show to the person receiving as soon as you hand it over, especially if you have to give it before Chrismas Day. That's why I loved finding the lidded ones last year. Shrinkwrap bags would make it easier for me to cover in paper.
I too would love to know the contents of the zombie hamper. My 13yo son would like one!0 -

When my parents had their 50th Anniversary ( that was 10 years ago next year so I will arrange for a congratulatory card from the Queen for their Diamond Wedding Anniversary :heartsmil) I did an everything gold hamper which included Gold Tea, Gold Blend Coffee, McVitie's Gold Biscuit Bars, Gold Chocolate Easter Bunnies, Gold wrapped Ferrero Rocher, Terrys All Gold Chocolates, Oats so Simple with Golden Syrup, Golden Shred Marmalade, Gold Syrup etc.
As there was so much stuff I did this in a cardboard box with angled cut sides then covered in a gold paper, cellophane wrapped.
At the moment our daughter is making up a 40th Birthday Hamper with 40 items.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0
