I done a zombie survival kit last year for my hubby. I wrapped a cardboard box in brown paper & printed off signs from the internet to stick on it to make it look like something the army would hand out. In it was 2 zombie books, survival guide & a-z. Head torch, body part sweets bought at halloween, candy blood again bought at halloween, battery radio, batteries, first aid kit, 10 in 1 tool kit thing. Can of zombie energy drink from amazon, dried food (supernoodles), protein bars, sports water bottle, glow sticks in red, anti bacterial hand gel, zombie hunter t-shirt. Cant think of what else was in there but i got labels again online etc & put them on the packaging to make it more realistic.

I found the disney mag yayyyy.:j Not too thrilled I saw it advertised on tv though, it;s for neice and I wanted a 'oohhhh where did you find that' moment.

This morning at local newsagents (independant) I saw some new Wonka Bars. They were 2 flavours milionaire shortbread and I think the other was a creme filled one. These fit into many different hamper themes, Chocolate, Roald Dahl, Magic/Fantasy and at a retail price of 60p, loads better than the ones you can only find on American sweet shop stalls which are a few £s. I will be putting some in DD's 'drama' hamper as I've decided to include items from shows she has performed and she was Mike TV from Charlie and the chocolate factory over the summer and is in Beauty and The Beast just beofr Christmas, though I'm unsure what I'll get for that at min. Unlikely to be dvd or book and since she's 10.5 a beauty and the beast barbie doll won't really cut it either.

There is also different figurines and ornaments with the characters.

Or maybe mugs?? This one I adore but its a bit pricey... well a lot pricey. But you could find cheaper ones online.

They also have lovely looking Beauty and the Beast plates.
A poster maybe? Tons of little themed charms around too.

Themed party favours but I think a couple could be used in a hamper:

How about some make up to make her into a beauty, and some face paints to make a beast?

  • Well, my daughter's hamper is now sorted, partly due to some bad luck that she has had. Yesterday afternoon, she had a puncture about two miles from home. Today I have bought her two new tyres android for wheel alignment - both her front tyres were worn on the inner sides, probably due to speed bumps. My daughter could have paid for them, but she is saving hard for a house, so I offered to pay for them as her Christmas present. It was quite expensive, so she accepted and knows that she won't be getting a great deal on the day - but at least she can drive round safely, and hasn't had to withdraw any savings.

For her hamper, I had already bought
    Table mats
    Recipe book stand
    Lasagne dish
    Tea towels

And from my stash I am adding
    Coasters
    Jar opener grips
    Scented room spray
    Magnetic shopping list
    Shabby chic wooden hen ornament

I've bought her a fabric shopping bag from Asda, with pink flamingos on. She loves flamingos, and will need 'proper' shopping bags rather than carrier bags, as this is what she is used to using.

I think I'm going to pop everything into the bag rather than a basket, to make up her hamper. I've already bought a few stocking fillers and a couple of other presents (photo frame, books, Vaseline gift bag), so that's my daughter sorted out. I just need to wrap/cellophane everything now.

For other Christmas shopping, hamper contents are coming along nicely for mum and my friend. I'm about halfway through the gym hamper for my younger son, and have a couple of bits for my older son's writing/colouring/puzzles hamper.

I've decided on a penguin hamper for MIL, as she adores penguins. I picked up a March of the Penguins DVD earlier in the year, and I'm cross stitching a small picture for her. I'm also hoping to find some warm socks, as she has poor circulation, as well as a few other bits and bobs.

Most of my other shopping is finished, it's mainly my two lads that I need to buy for. I've not completely sorted my older son's teacher or TA - he has special needs, and they give him a lot of support, so I like to give something personal and thought out. Last year, he had the same teacher and I made a hot drinks hamper as the teachers and TAs have to supervise their own class at playtimes, meaning that they make a cuppa in their classrooms and not really having a break. I had a phone call from his teacher thanking me for such a lovely present. I don't know if I should repeat it as it was consumable, or if I should do something different.

The only really awkward one is my son's school bus driver. His escort is sorted - perfume. The driver is male, keeps himself very much to himself most of the time but does enjoy a laugh, and likes sweets. When they broke up for summer, I gave him a jar of retro sweets, with his name cross stitched in variegated thread to decorate the jar. I don't really go down the 'box of Roses' path, as I like to get something a bit more individual for everyone. Ideas are welcome :)

I'm hoping that my daughter will show me how to put photos onto the computer, so that I can upload some when completed. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone else's photos :D

You could put together a wash bag for while ur away
    reggae CDs?

I can't think of anymore atm

You could package it all up in a rasta hat maybe? Or a blanket knitted in the national colours

My Dad does exactly this job, a bus driver for a Special school. At Christmas he comes home with loads of chocs, and my mum who is a mobile hairdresser comes home with more - though with some bottles of wine added to hers.:D

Something that is a common occurrence with his job, is he has to set off earlier than his usual start time due to inclement weather, as the school is either closing early or it is likely the journey will take a lot longer to drop pupils off. Maybe you can find something based around this? Eg hand warmer, thicker socks.
