  • Unfortunately we reside Oop North, London is a bit of a trek for them! They do go to all sorts of shows, in the cities through to local productions. Just looked that DVD up, struggling to find where anywhere actually sells it but I shall persevere!

Great find! If I end up doing a separate present (or getting the siblings to chip in!) I will certainly look at this :)

When I say shed, its more of a garage so its got electric etc in it, however the wind up radio is a good idea, another gadget for him to play with! :p
What does he do in the shed? Apart from escape from me for a few hours :rotfl:, mainly home DIY and playing with models (the transport sort, not the pg 3 sort, I think!)

Books & magazines are out as he has a shed load….literally…of the damn things!

Some things I suggested might still be ok for other theatres. They may well do tours, even if not advertised. If they like musicals, maybe a selection of classic musicals on DVD? Oklahoma, West Side Story, My Fair Lady etc etc... I've seen some very cheap. :)
This is the tv show I mentioned. http://www.greatwestendtheatres.co.uk/
It's west end theatre, but has been an interesting series so far.

I'm doing an Australian hamper for family that are visiting there next year. Not so much stuff to take with them, but themed, ie wine, beer, Aussie shampoo. Might even pop a Kylie cd in there.....if I run out of ideas will theme with normal stuff in green and yellow.

I did a red one for their ruby anniversary, including red washing up liquid, and it was well received

Love the ideas on here, just wish I could do some for others but either we have agreed not to buy or the person doesn't suit a hamper idea

Is it just a food hamper you were looking to do, or can it include other things? How about:
    Posh biscuits
    Jams, chutneys etc
    Socks
    Puzzle books and pen/pencil
    New mug/ drinking glass

Does he have any hobbies or interests you can relate it to?
  • Have just come across this thread and its fantastic! I am thinking of doing a christmas eve or christmas day hamper for DD, who will be 8. She is a gymnast so going to start stockpiling gymnastic things - leotard, socks, headbands, keyrings etc. I have some pics of her at gymnastics so will put a couple into special frames for her.

  • I have got most of the items sorted for my various family's hampers.....Just left with my Sister and BIL's hamper. Their kids part is done but now I'm scratching my head for what to get my sister and most especially my BIL. A bottle of wine for her, whiskey for him....that's all i got so far.
My sister has got a lot of the pamper items and I feel bad because for her birthday, I gave her a wine hamper(which she loved)....now Christmas and its another lousy bottle of wine.
My BIL works in another country and he's got a great sense of humor so I thought I could add some gag gifts....actually, i'm buying him some boob candy (so he can suck on them when he misses my sister, :rotfl: )
I could use some help here to finish this one hamper.....

    Hi Carolbee,
Do you know what kinds of activities they will be doing there? That might help you in getting more stuff. Also which part of Australia they are going. Just things to consider, :)

They are doing a tour all over!!

Also, they have been with us before and will come again, so am aiming for wine, beer, will make some food and a couple of joky things
They have books, maps etc and we are all trying not to buy 'stuff' so tend to give consumables or trips out.

Thanks so much for bringing that up though, something to think on .....

    Hi Christina,
Ruby wedding anniversary would be the 40th...right? Wow!!! I am impressed!!! Together for that long, congratulations to them.....They certainly need an impressive money saving experts gift. Will keep an eye out for any deals you could use.
