Not sure if this has been mentioned but for anyone doing bookworm hampers O2 priority moments are giving away 7 of Richard and Judy's autumn book club titles. The code is working still on my phone even when I have redeemed it, I've got 4 of the 7 now and means I only have to get some chocolate and a bottle of wine to add! Hope it helps someone0

I have been reading this thread with interest... my OH has his birthday in December then I struggle with his xmas prezzie as I've used up all my ideas earlier in the month!
This year we are expecting our first baby on January the 14th, so I was thinking, perhaps a 'fatherhood survival hamper' could be an idea for xmas.
I was thinking I could put in:
some earplugs(!!) for the noisy nights
some books to read at night if the earplugs don't work
some bottles of his favourite ales
some of his favourite snacks
a few "get out of jail free" cards for nights out with the boys, (because he will feel guilty leaving me home alone with the baby)
Does anyone have other ideas? Not too fussed about cost really, he's been so nice during pregnancy that he deserves a reward!
Anything that your OH's found to be a life saver when living with a newborn?0 -

Hi Ellie,
Give him gifts related to his interests. Example.... if he's nuts about cars, give him gifts to do with cars....magazines, car washing kit, Top Gear souvenirs, etc. It would give him something to do, not baby related but still at home so the issue of him feeling bad about leaving you with baby doesn't come up.
You could also arrange a night/weekend away voucher (to be redeemed much, much, much later and you will need to get someone to take care of the baby) so the two of you could get a whole night of sleep.
My sister and BIL tells me that was the best gift they got (given by me, of course) when she had her baby.
All the best with the baby!!0 -

I didn't get it :sad: but I did pass by my local charity shop and got a couple of books she would love:dance:. I'm doing a book hamper for my mum. I am gonna get her a book journal, book marker and some edibles to add....thinking of hot chocolate, cream crackers, cheese and a mug. I thought of adding a book light but I'm undecided for now.0 -

This is my first hamper I have ever done and its for my boyfriends mum who loves reading. I am going to get her some posh hotel chocolat chocolates and a bottle of her fav wine but I am stuck for other things. Her other daughters have bought her a book light and book marks with her grandchildren before so theyre out the question.. not sure what else:think0 -

I am so inspired with this forum!! Never made a hamper but might attempt now!
Not been in primark for ages and did not realize they did fake nails, face wipes, argan oil hair treatments, fake eyelashes and make up. Will do nicely for my teenage sister's hamper!!
xx2018 wins: Scottish weekend break, london weekend break and hotel chocolat hamper0 -

Thanks Carlamarie, that's a great idea. Building on the blanket or snuggy idea, Ellie- Marie
* snuggy slippers
* soothing eye mask from body shop (to sooth her eyes after hours of reading)
* book ends
* the thumb thing book holder or a Magic Book Clip
* a tote/shopper bag to haul around her books, (I'm actually adding this, forgot it in my initial post)
* a voucher to buy a book later
* a book stand
I did consider some of these for the hamper but either my mum has it already or knowing her, she would never use it. The possibilities are endless.....:)0
