I went shopping yesterday. The poster re the moustache hamper. Someone earlier on mentioned seeing boxes in The Works with moustaches design over them but didn't know the price. They are £6.99 or 2 boxes for £10. The 'moustache look' is in this year, I've seen all sort of stuff in this design from moustache shaped soaps, admittedly these were part of a toiletry set I saw in Boots, forget what brand (was quite dear though) to things like fridge magnets in Wilkos. Great for padding out a hamper where the main components are for moustache care.
Zomebie hamper- I picked up a 3D book in poundland, complete with cardboard 3D glasses, so the scenes stare out at you.:D Might be a bit naff for an adult, but thought it would give my teen a laugh, so worth it for £1. They had eyeball sweets in there too.0 -
HI all, I am making a few hampers this year.
Survival hampers for my brother and his wife-t-be and sister and her BF.
So far on the way I have
-torch
-credit card shaped multi tool
- mess tins
- hexamine stove
I had hoped poundland would have a few bits like foil blankets etc but nothing like that in our local one at this time of year. Maybe will pick up some more hand warmers.
Also doing a general hamper for my parents, with new socks (they never buy any!) and foods they like.
Treats hamper for BIL with homemade things like truffles, fudge, cookies.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I'm just doing mini treat hampers for 3 sets of grandparents with chili jam, either werthers vodka or Xmas pud flavour brandy plus some hm choc slabs. May have to rethink the choc supplies as the stuff I've bought (and sampled
) is yuk. Although the kids like it so there's is sorted...

After doing hamper the last couple of years (general interest one for relatives one year and a beer one for OH) I'm now pondering wether to do any this year - it might a bit late for me to get on this particular wagon!
The only things I can think of is that my M&D have started going to the theatre together, what would go in a hamper for that? Only really come up with bags of sweets :rotfl:, I bought mum a theatre gift voucher for her b'day so thats out really...
Alos, after buying our house last year, OH now has his 'man shed'! I want to get him a Thermos-type mug as he loves his tea but always complains it goes cold in there before he gets chance to finish it. Does anyone have any reccomendations from experience as to what type is best to buy (or for any other shed realated hamper ideas for that matter)?
I don't mind spending a bit more money for a better version, he will just have to have it as a standalone pesent in that case0 -

There's a great book called Theatre Monkey if it's London shows that they go to. Do they have a favourite show? Maybe get the cast recording of that? Some change to buy programmes? Tickets to a backstage tour of a theatre? There's some books on haunted theatres. Also a show on Sky Arts 2 at the moment called Great West End Theatres which I believe is available on DVD. You could write to some theatres/agents to get cast signatures if there's actors/actresses they like.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
I don't know what your budget is for the theatre hamper Penguin but I bought an atg theatre card earlier in the year. It last for a year and gets you discounts on some shows and no booking fees. I had saved back the money after 3 shows.

At £30 it is a bit pricey for a hamper though and to get the full benefit it would have to be bought close to Christmas. There is a list of the theatres it covers at the bottom of the page0 -
Shed hamper - Solar/wind up radio (about £15). Light/lamp for darker days. Chocolate stash.
What does he do in the shed? That may give us more ideas... (my DH mostly smokes, drinks coffee and goes on facebook in his!).June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Unfortunately we reside Oop North, London is a bit of a trek for them! They do go to all sorts of shows, in the cities through to local productions. Just looked that DVD up, struggling to find where anywhere actually sells it but I shall persevere!rosalie-lavender wrote: »I don't know what your budget is for the theatre hamper Penguin but I bought an atg theatre card earlier in the year. Great find! If I end up doing a separate present (or getting the siblings to chip in!) I will certainly look at thisShed hamper - Solar/wind up radio (about £15). Light/lamp for darker days. Chocolate stash.

What does he do in the shed? Apart from escape from me for a few hours :rotfl:, mainly home DIY and playing with models (the transport sort, not the pg 3 sort, I think!)
Books & magazines are out as he has a shed load….literally…of the damn things!0 -
