Hello everyone. Did a full day of the paid stuff today. I have also done the dailies, cleaned all the windows inside, sorted 7 drawers (one bag of stuff in the bin, one item for charity shop) and got as far as I can with the broadband frog (which still isn't working properly).

Got some blackberries on the dog walk tonight, but not many so might go back in a few days when more have ripened.

Tomorrow, I am going to have a lie in before the paid stuff but will see what I can do from the lists and need to take some time out to collect my prescription or I will run out of tablets.

Hope everyone has had an ok kind of day.

Does anyone want to see the Alan Partridge film - Alpha Papa. None of my friends/family will come with me *sob* I can get to London easily. I do lots of things on my own but I'd really like a friend to laugh with...

I'm about 2 hours away from LDN - I suppose I could make a day of and there could be a fly-lady mini meet?

Flying just hasn't happened today - been at both jobs (last night on Thursday :j) but promise to do better tomorrow

Hello! I'm back!! Actually got back yesterday evening so have spent the day washing, shopping and sleeping!!

Oooh, I see it's another Valli week :rotfl:

Best say I'm in then! Thanks Valli :A

Am going to skim through the thread and then sort a list.

Hope everyone had a good week last week - I haven't read anything on here since a week ago yesterday x

For those who aren't having a bank holiday - or or who wish to fly a little

(Check the link - it's a clue!) -" These are the days when I wish the bed was already made" :rotfl:

although in my case yesterday was the day I wish the bed wasn't soaked in "Catshake" as DS calls his prescription formula mixed with a well known brand of milkshake syrup famous for it's singing and break-dancing cats - mattress and all bedding soaked plus an overspill on the floor - 2 hours work for Mr V@x mostly with the handheld scrubbing tool

    15 Minutes

    [STRIKE]S&S in the bathroom.[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Wipe over sticky areas[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wipe the loo[/STRIKE] (different, dedicated-to-the-loo cloth for the outside)
    [STRIKE]Bleach round the bowl[/STRIKE]

30 Minutes - as above plus

    [STRIKE]S&S in the kitchen[/STRIKE] DD3
    [STRIKE]wipe over the worktops[/STRIKE] DD3 and [STRIKE]taps[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]empty the bin[/STRIKE]
    wipe the handles

1 hour - as above plus

[STRIKE]run the vacuum over high traffic areas[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]empty all the bins[/STRIKE] bathroom nappy wrapper bins given a good bleach too!
[STRIKE]peg out some washing - let it blow dry![/STRIKE] 6 loads pegged out between DD1, DD3 and me - go team Skint!

    Excellent extras
Start your ascent of Mount [STRIKE]Ironmore[/STRIKE] Foldmore - aim to reach base camp today!
2 big clean baskets folded and posted to appropriate young Skints room

E&W - school looms - source those sandwich boxes and bags - make sure they're clean - wipe them out and let them air dry if necessary
What about making a banana loaf (fat free; recipe on request) then slice it before freezing - add a slice to the lunchbox - it will be thawed by dinner time (or lunch if you're in the South;) and keep the sandwiches cool!

    Ruby Tuesday

Bedroom antics! Main bedroom (yours!) or one in dire need!

    15 Minutes?
    [STRIKE]Clear that floordrobe.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Vacuum as much of the carpet as you can easily access[/STRIKE]

    30 minutes?
    Dust every surface
    Polish those mirrors
Dust the headboard if it's solid; vacuum it with the upolstery brush is it's padded
    wipe the switches

    1 whole hour

    [STRIKE]Strip the bedding[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]get that duvet on the line outside to air in the sun[/STRIKE] in the wash, currently still airing.....making do with sleeping bag
[STRIKE]vacuum and turn your mattress[/STRIKE] see Catshake above
    dust the skirting board

Obviously (well I hope it's obvious!) start from the bottom of the list - the hour jobs need doing first!

    Extra challenge

pick a drawer and sort it. Lets have some order and no holey knickers, laddered tights or anything else LLA (left lying around) if it's past it's best it needs to GO!

Your bedroom should be a sanctuary; with fresh bedding, fresh air and a place of peace and pleasure...even if that pleasure is reading or just sleeping. You can't recharge your inner batteries if the charger's broken!

    Hump Day! Wonderful wiping Wednesday
    love your lounge!
    15 minutes?

    Open windows
think about where you sit - and ensure that the most irritating/annoying/niggly area in your line of sight gets some lurrve...clear a hotspot!

    30 minutes?
    dust everything you possibly can

Pause for thought - time for those of you who think there is something you would like to have a go at, that is a personal challenge for YOU to think about what that challenge is and what you would need to do to achieve it.

I *may* be asking for names and challenges later; it needs to be decided whether this runs on the Flylady Thread or is a standalone thread and it's not just my decision;)

For the interim if you have a personal 'me mountain' to climb have a think about the steps you need to take to embark on the climb!

Went to hairdressers with DD3, DD4 and Ds this afternoon to get DD3 and my hair sorted - by sorted meant both get our roots done and a few split ends snipped.......so hot I told DD3 we were not going to have a blow dry and straighten seeing as neither of us were having a "re-style" as we would both turn into frizzballs before getting home very :money:

Got there at 3.15 and had two people in front of us, but I couldn't get pushchair out of the shop the way I had come in discreetly before DS had started engaging the hairdresser in conversation :o

HD got started on mine at just after 4 and started on DD3 at just after 5.30 and we were done and paid for at 8.10pm by which point DD4 wanted me to know Daisy Mode was long overdue

DD1 ordered pizza online from the spotty one which I collected, which was suitably decluttered before a quick bath for DS and DD4......followed by a long Daisy session.

I have now moved DD4 cot out of my BR onto the landing semi permanently....it is just not practical to have my Kingsize, DS's toddler bed and DD4 travel cot on the footprint of my BR, I could barely walk around anything.

DS has been in his toddler bed last night and again tonight, and I am on the floorspace vacated by the travel cot as my mattress is still damp (despite having all the windows open while DD1 was on guard duty)

Hope my bed is dry by tomorrow as I am one very crotchety Skinty!

Roll on the end of September and I am going to have a bedroom re-shuffle and put my baby monitors to good use :rotfl:

    See you tomorrow
The cold never bothered me anyway

Morning all good to see you are all flying well.

First day I've woken early since being away. Lots of bites/stings making me a bit itchy to sleep so up to have a cuppa and read for a while.

Kayaking today. Kids are looking forward to it more than me.

    Morning all

Made myself get up at 7am this morning, have been sleeping in just lately. Not sleeping very well at the moment though, lots on my mind I think. Have watered the tubs outside and hung out the washing. Off to dust and hoover the living room when I have had my brekkie and a shower.

Paid work later so I need to get as much done as I can before then. Have a good day everyone.
  • Morning all, today is defo a day for finishing off getting all school stuff and get the flying up to date.

We did have a nosey around the local shop last night for some school supplies but I think I can get it a lot cheaper in the town. Hopefully i'll have bags packed up this evening and i'll have a look at the stuff DS3 got from the school, still can't believe my baby is going to school. I'm really going to miss him. :(

Flying wise the house is awful, can really only blame myself so it will be town first then i'll crack on. I'm going to make a list of all things I want done by Christmas. I would love to have the kids bedrooms done by then, might even try and get them done sooner rather than later. :)

Right better drag kids out of bed.
