Hi all; and a warm welcome to new and de-lurked Flyers.
Still feeling mighty groggy; and my hands are as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike today, so I don't see much getting done. Even Mr LW has said I should just rest.:( Anyways, it's the girls' last full day here - they're due to be picked up at 09:30 tomorrow, so I shall deploy Mr Dys0n after that and remove the last of the garden detritus they've tracked in.;) One thing I must to is the girls' postcard to take home - thinking of something witty and apposite to write before 09:30 in the morning is not going to work!:D

I need to nip out and post a letter in a bit; and I'll be taking the girls round the field this afternoon - having two of them to keep under control, it's good to be right away from any traffic.;)

Talking of doing things on one's own - I used to go everywhere alone, before I became so disabled; pub, cinema, Mensa meetings, Dungeons & Dragons, the lot. In those days I used one walking stick only, and just walked with a bit of a limp. Then my health took a major nosedive; I now need a wheelchair to do more than a couple of steps (or the mobility buggy, which I use for dog-walking) and I need assistance to go anywhere at all, as my shoulders are too weak to self-propel the wheelchair; the upshot being that I've become terrified to even leave the house.:( I'm OK if I have dogs with me - as long as I don't meet anyone I'm required to talk to, but going out completely alone reduces me to a quivering jelly.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Morning everyone, hope you are all well. DP has gone fishing today so its just me and LO at home, hoping to get as much done as possible.

Well, I managed to escape from the Cupboards of Doom and there seems to be more space in there :)

Pretty much all the laundry is sorted and can go away tonight :j

And, since the Dys0n was out, the whole flat got vacuumed.

Sadly, I still can't find the source of the smell in the fridge, it wasn't anything to do with the shelves I washed last night so I'll have to go back in tonight when I've had me tea. :D

More paint sloshed over the cupboard under the front steps, and I've finished the scullery area. Now to turn out the whole of the chest of drawers - one drawer just isn't going to cut it.

Mrs Dog says thank you to everyone who wished her well. She's now scoffing great bowlfuls of grub every time they're put in front of her and snoozing between feedfests. (She helped by dipping her tail into wet paint. Not too keen on having it washed, but it's back to black.)
    Better is good enough.
  • have just scrubbed some of the kitchen tiles.... its taking forever.

right done my training (child protection) DD3 gone to work, DH been home fed and gone back to work, DD2 partner and kids round for afternoon and ive just fell into the lounge via the backdoor because some idiot decided to ring trying to sell me insurance:mad: kneecap now sore and scuffed off so will be mostly fly limping between chatting to my visitors
put the lists up so i can see what i need to do

    Manic Monday[/URL][/SIZE]
    (Check the link - it's a clue!)

    15 Minutes

    S&S in the bathroom.
    Wipe over sticky areas
Wipe the loo (different, dedicated-to-the-loo cloth for the outside)
    Bleach round the bowl

30 Minutes - as above plus

    S&S in the kitchen
wipe over the worktops and taps
    empty the bin
    wipe the handles

1 hour - as above plus

run the vacuum over high traffic areas
    empty all the bins
peg out some washing - let it blow dry!

    Excellent extras
Start your ascent of Mount Ironmore
[STRIKE]E&W - school looms - source those sandwich boxes and bags - make sure they're clean - wipe them out and let them air dry if necessary[/STRIKE]
What about making a banana loaf (fat free; recipe on request) then slice it before freezing - add a slice to the lunchbox - it will be thawed by dinner time (or lunch if you're in the South;) and keep the sandwiches cool!

    Ruby Tuesday

Bedroom antics! Main bedroom (yours!) or one in dire need!

    15 Minutes?
    Clear that floordrobe.
Vacuum as much of the carpet as you can easily access

    30 minutes?
    Dust every surface
    Polish those mirrors
    wipe the switches

    1 whole hour

    Strip the bedding
get that duvet on the line outside to air in the sun
[STRIKE]vacuum and turn your mattress[/STRIKE]dont need to bought a new one last week:j
    dust the skirting board

Obviously (well I hope it's obvious!) start from the bottom of the list - the hour jobs need doing first!

    Extra challenge

pick a drawer and sort it. Lets have some order and no holey knickers, laddered tights or anything else LLA (left lying around) if it's past it's best it needs to GO!

Your bedroom should be a sanctuary; with fresh bedding, fresh air and a place of peace and pleasure...even if that pleasure is reading or just sleeping. You can't recharge your inner batteries if the charger's broken!

Pause for thought - time for those of you who think there is something you would like to have a go at, that is a personal challenge for YOU to think about what that challenge is and what you would need to do to achieve it.

I *may* be asking for names and challenges later; it needs to be decided whether this runs on the Flylady Thread or is a standalone thread and it's not just my decision;)

For the interim if you have a personal 'me mountain' to climb have a think about the steps you need to take to embark on the climb!

made a small start on the clutter store that is the garage, have got 24 small plastic drawers lined up outside and am sorting the contents. screws nails rawl plugs hinges drill bits and assorted dead beatles and strange bits of plastic i cant think of a use for.
IF it looks like it may have a use in the future im sorting it all out so that like things are in a drawers with their friends. if its obviously bent broken or rusty its in the bin everything else will hopefully be in some sort of order then i can move on to another area of the garage
