Congratulations, minniemousesmummy, on the safe new arrival x

Helen, you are both in my prayers, benign vibes heading your way, such a worrying time x

Valli, thinking of you too, will be a huge change for you all x

We have had an eventful afternoon. House full of people, lovely to catch up, but as always the conversation steered onto 2 particular topics and things got rather heated between two of my aunts. Now there were children around, and it was making my mum, my other aunt, and me and my cousins uncomfortable, so as "hostess" I had to diffuse the situation

Anyway, I just politely asked them to change the topic, there were children present and it was neither the time or place. It continued, so I just said "look this needs to stop now, you need to do this elsewhere" and I gather they realised I was serious. Both apologised on the quiet, and all went back to normal (ie the usual dull roar).

These things happen in families, and I'm pleased it didn't escalate on my watch, and that I managed it without offending anyone. I'm pleased to say all of the children's behaviour was immaculate lol (my two, plus 7 others) it was just two of the "granny" generation. Deary me!

So, paper plates were utilised, DW is full of mugs and the kettle has been on overtime. Kiddies helped put toys away, and both mine have clean beds.

Phew! I'd say I need a cuppa, but I've had enough tea to float a small ship today :rotfl:
