Thanks everyone,
Dh managed to come down for a cuppa but is back in bed again,
I didn't get the Kitchen done but I did cut the grass - it hasn't been done for about 2 months :]
Washing is almost up to date, just need to sort out what doesn't need to be ironed and what does,
Need to find some motivation to do tea for DS and me - DH will not eat and DD is at her Dads [must remember to get her later]

Normally I love it too; but DS goes to Uni this month. Three days before his birthday; 4 days before mine.
And next September DD will (probably) go, too.
I'm finding the whole notion of it so hard.
Valli, my DS is starting Uni this month too. He can't wait to go, I'm happy for him but I'm also a bit worried thinking about him going home from clubs and pubs at night. I suppose they have to grow up sometime0 -
Not even thought of the nightlife bit - it's just the not here bit that's bothering me.I am happy he has got there (finally) and proud, too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Hi all
Valli hugs, I'm not a parent but just wanted to say I was thinking of you. My friend went through the same a couple of years ago. But her DS has come on leaps and bounds and an independent, intelligent young man.
MMM congratulations on DS
roxy quick labour vibes to you
Helen just wanted to send pain-free vibes to your DH - I have everything crossed it's not the C xx
Not much flying here today as I went for a walk near to my favourite place (on the downs). My Dad came round to help me re-felt the shed roof but he says I either need a new roof or new shed (the shed was abused by the previous owners). Not sure what to do as I was saving up to get chickens.
Have batch cooked a curry for dinner (and 3 other dinners when I want them).
I'm now chilling with a wine spritzer

Well, I can practise being an empty nester tonight. DS is off on holiday, DD has gone to Edinburgh, with two friends, to look at the Uni there.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Valli, when my DS1 went off to uni, the first half term was terrible - I hadn't expected to miss him - but then we went to visit and saw how happy he was, and my black cloud lifted at once and didn't even come back when DD and DS2's time came for uni. We have to let our children fly in the other senses of the word, too!
Branches of one vast viburnum, one elephantine laurel and one carpy conifer decluttered and bagged. We'll ask the garden gang to remove the roots tomorrow0
