    Hey PFTP,

Extra hour in the day, what a welcome relief, would like this to happen at least once a week if I'm honest haha

Loving the idea of different coloured crockery, it's a bright additional to the kitchen while still keeping an eye on the culprits who do not do dishes

Fingers crossed you can find a good bargain for your nuts - healthy little packets of nuts are really expensive, which is a shame as I think more people would opt for it as a healthy option if it wasn't so dear

wow 11 for dinner, that's going to be a busy dinner table, have a lovely afternoon visiting your Mum

I'm totally with you on that extra weekly hour - just think what we could get done!

11 for dinner at my mums is her normal weekly number - with us it was 16  - and it's my step dad who gets to cook!

You're so right on the healthy options - I spent another £30 yesterday at Mr T - £6 for a large bag of prunes!

  • Yay - a day off for me :D, a day doing business accounts for me :(

Had a great time at my mum's as we always do - fun and laughter are always on the agenda. It was good to be able to go as a family now we have the new car - it's been such a long time since we all went up together.

Woke up to a bonus this morning when I checked my bank accounts - my second child benefit payment of the month went into my account - it only happens once a year but an extra £190 is always welcome :D

Popped down to Mr T yesterday for some bits and ended up with quite a few stocking fillers - I try to make them as useful and relevant to the person as I can so it can be quite tricky - they always have a chocolate orange though and as they are £1 in Mr T at the moment I bought 5 of them (just hope I don't scoff them all before xmas! Christmas socks and vitamins are also a must as well as hangover cures for the older ones, normallly some handwarmers and a cheap dvd.

Off for a bath before I start my accounts. I promised DD a trip to John Lewis this afternoon - if she is up to it and possibly a trip to the cinema if I can get her out of her room.

  • Big Mistake yesterday - went to John Lewis with DD - how can you not buy anything when you go there! We now have matching cutlery for our plates, the new blender that I had been thinking of buying, an espresso machine for DH for Christmas and a couple of other xmas pressies. DD also got some rather expensive moisturiser and make-up remover but at least she got some freebies to go with them! I shall be looking forward to them going back to school.

Worked for 3 different clients today and have picked up the book keeping work for my friend who runs the catering company - not sure quite when I will fit it in but I'm sure I will fit it in somewhere!

NSD for me today - found 20p too. :D

The other good news on the MS front is that I am going to be credited £170 from my old gas and electricity supplier - not bad going as I was over £400 in debt to them just over 6 months ago :money:

Need to post my monthly spend for October in a couple of days - its been a couple of months since I did and it's looking rather a hefty month - over £3000 I think (not including the car of course)

Must get on with the business accounts whilst DD is with the counselor :(

  • Will I never learn - never go shopping with DD

  • £472 saved last month - not impressive! I have adjusted my annual savings target for 2014 to reflect the £14,000 spent on purchasing the car (which my DH has already scraped in a car park ) I am going to aim for £12,000 savings which will bring my target to £114,000 by the end of this year.

November is definitely going to be a tight month. I had a NSD yesterday to start the month off and used up two £5 coupons at Mr T for spending £80 in two shops. I'm hoping not to need to shop again for the next week apart from a couple of perishables.

Christmas shopping has got off to a flying start. Both DD and DH are done (as well as DD's birthday), some stocking fillers and probably half of DS's. I won't have a great deal of time to do it as we are away for a few weekends over the next two months so I must keep on top of things.

I spent most of the day yesterday finishing off the company accounts which I am happy to say I am now back on top of :j and up to date.I do need to finish off the filing and update the VAT and invoices file but I am soooo glad that is out the way. Finished off the day at a friend's Halloween party - amazing what you can do with an old can of black hairspray, eyeliner and an old black dress ;)

DH is cooking dinner today as I am so in need of a rest. I'm really looking forward to a good read this afternoon, and maybe a film.
I will post my monthly spend in the next post - not a pretty sight!

    Enjoy

I haven't highlighted lower and higher spends for the month compared to last as I didn't post one last month and basically everything is higher than August!

How can I possibly spend £4,000 in one month and that doesn't even include the rent

Here's hoping for a more frugal November!

Challenge for the month: GIVING UP ALL THINGS SWEET (excl fruit):eek::eek::eek:

  • Great start to the month financially - 4 NSDs to date.

Not great on the relationship side - marriage very nearly imploded as I lost it over the fact that no one does anything in this house and everything - I mean everything is left to me! Hoping to have resolved things after much shouting and many tears :(

I have stopped monitoring my daily gas and electric usage - life is too short and it causes to much tension - DH will just have to cough up if we go over budget.

I have been re-reading some of my minimalist blogs and as a result I have removed all social media and emails from my phone and ipad, I will also be reducing this diary to a weekly one. Catch you next week
