The car sounds like a good buy to me, all the family will enjoy it, you can have some lovely days out :)

Believe it or not Edinburgher I haven't been in it yet! Personally I'm not a car person - though it's definitely shiny from the outside - and as it's only done 4000 miles I think it should be pretty shiny on the inside :D If I'm honest I'm waiting till early Sunday morning - it's been a while since I drove a large car (a tad larger than my mini) and I don't want to crash into anything :o

I did mention to the family that a day out would consist of a drive in the country - stop off at a country pub where I would buy the kids a lemonade and a packet of crisps that they could have in the car whilst me and DH went for a drink in the pub - anyone remember those days :rotfl:

  • Off to work this morning but need to write my to do list tonight - a weekend of admin me thinks!

DH is broke again so I had to pay for DSS2s school trip - £36 paid out yesterday that was not expected. Also paid upfront for the annual landline charge as its cheaper to do it this way £157. Spent £15 on lunch with my bessies and £49 on food. Have upped my food budget to £450 per month and increase of £65 so hope to have an easier time of organising meals.

    Daily food budget:£12.40

    Current spend for month £325!

  • A busy weekend trying to keep on top of things. I was going to post my to do list on here but it was so long that I thought I'd best get on with it.

The house is now clean - all emails are answered, shopping done and meals are prepared for most of the week. I am still behind on some of my admin but I'm hoping to do half an hour each day when I get back from work. I also have about 4 months worth of business accounts to sort out, VAT returns to submit and PAYE to pay

The first week of October has been a fairly expensive one - though nothing that I wasn't expecting. Car insurance, annual landline payment, TV licence, plus £250 for a night in a Premier Inn for a wedding in December. With 6 of us I have to book 3 rooms - last time I managed to get the rooms for £29 this time they were £61! Total spend £762- and we are only 5 days into the month!

    Daily Food spend: £11.27
Daily Gas & Electric cost: £5.24

Off to earn some money :D

  • Just a quick post before I go off de-cluttering. Managed a NSD yesterday which is a real rarity:D Already spent a fiver today as just popped down to Mr T for some eggs and a few bits for dinner tonight.

Had to book an appointment at the doctors this morning to talk to him about DD. I'm very worried about her - I think she has the onset of teenage depression. I've been reading up about it and she has all the classic symptoms. As I have a friend whose son suffers from severe depressive episodes and is medicated up to the eyeballs I know that it is important to deal with this early on so Im hoping a chat with the doctor will provide me with some guidance. It's so hard to deal with as what you really want to do is shake some sense into them and tell them just how lucky they are. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that.

Managed to do my VAT return this morning - I'm getting good tackling my To Do List on the hop :)

    Daily food Budget: £11.93
Daily gas and electric usage £6.60

well done on the NSD yesterday :T

I hope all goes well for you at the doctors

maybe instead of quick slurp of coffee you should invest in one of those travel mug things (I love mine :j )

    Have a good day

I used to have a travel mug but for some strange reason my DH decided to drill a hole in the bottom and use it as the base of a megaphone for a fancy dress murder mystery party we went to

  • TGIF! Last day of work till the weekend - though I have a busy one again.

Spoke to Doctors and school about DD and she's going to see the school counsellor which is great -fingers crossed there. Must keep an eye on her eating as she's very slender already and I know she's not eating properly.

Parents Evening for DS - hmmm. Not a great one which is not what you want to hear the year of his GCSEs. This time last year he was predicted A's this year its B and Cs because he is not putting the effort in to learning his stuff. I am so cross with him as he keeps telling me he will do it but not following through - he will get what he deserves - I can do no more.

So much for this being a diary about money at the moment there is so much going on in this house - there isn't a single person who doesn't have an issue or is causing problems!

I had a NSD on Wednesday but did meet up with a friend yesterday for a coffee and a piece of cake :o I also bought some expensive moisturiser stuff for my face which is something I never do - have been noticing those wrinkles appearing with a vengence so its time for action. If this stuff doesn't do anything I will go back to my usual cheap crap. I did offset this by earning £50 from a friend by doing a mystery shopper - at a stables her husband is doing some work for! Me and horses don't mix!

Ahh gotta go - late for work
