Thanks for your concern Giblet - that's really sweet of you.I must admit I am feeling a little anxious at the moment.I must make sure I don't stretch myself too far. I'm hoping DD will hold out so I don't need to get her. It's actually quite nice to go out and do some cleaning as it takes my mind off things!

Ok so yesterday I spent the day deep cleaning 6 bathrooms-that's 6! I used whole bottle of limescale cleaner down the toilets  I have been asked to do 3 days a week which will just about allow me to get round the house!!
Off for a day of decluttering and also to do a bit of cooking for the old lady who isn't very well at the moment. Luckily she lives at the bottom of the garden of the friend who I am decluttering for.
Feeling a little weary as I'm not sleeping brilliantly at the moment - think I'm still worrying about DD.
Treated myself to a bottle of wine last night and there is still half a bottle left
Daily food budget: £6.87

6 bathrooms?! Gosh, that sounds like a nightmare. I hate cleaning the bath
hope you sleep better soon - it's so annoying when you're tired but can't sleep.

I'm not a great sleeper at the best of times slowlyfading - I think it's a throw back to listening out for the kids when they were little.
Personally cleaning showers are the bane of my life - particularly when they are full of limescale:eek:

Today is the first anniversary of my diary writing. I can't believe its only been one year - I feel like I've been on this journey forever . Despite being a year of ups and downs emotionally, my savings have been growing at a fairly steady rate. Reading back over my first post I started with £96,600 and one year later, if the rest of the month goes to plan (may go pear shape if I have to go to France) I will have £119,400 saved towards my goal of £250,000 to buy my flat. That's an annual savings of £22,800 :j (whether £250,000 will buy me a flat in 5 years time is another matter!)
I would like to thank all of you who follow my diary for the support you have given, not only with respect to financials but as much for the emotional support and advice you have given me when things have been tough.
So onwards and upwards - 1 year down and only 5 to go :rotfl:

Thanks so much guys for the wishes. Lets see where the next twelve months takes us
Went out with DH last night for dinner (pizza ex vouchers) and the cinema (two for one). We had a lovely evening - and to top it off it didn't bust the bank :money:
I have a really busy day to day - I have to do breakfast, lunch and dinner for the old lady I am looking after in between a day of cleaning at my friends - happy to have cleaned the bathrooms already.
I spent several hours yesterday working out my gas and electric usage for the last twelve months and working out which is the best deal for me to move to. I used the comparison websites but I also like to check with my own calculations as I still think they are confusing if you don't know how they work it out. I am switching to SP which gave me a £390 saving over my current supplier. My month direct debit will go down from £195 to £159 although I think that my usage may go up so as long as I don't end up spending more than last year I will be happy. I have been monitoring my usage and cost on a daily basis for the last 4 months to ensure that I get back in credit and I'm happy to say that I have just achieved that after a debit balance of around £500. It's a bit extreme but it has helped massively to keep my usage down.
