ah no......it's harsh when you are aiming for a goal and hiccups crop up...like car repairs!
I totally understand the pizza and wine as a consequential cost after all that travelling to get home. well deserved I must say!
Hope the sleep over with the gaggling girls went well along with all the other tasks you had set. You washing really sounds like mine.......family laundry baskets seem to be forever full to overflowing......where does it all come from???
DB
Thanks DB - things have settle back to normality again now. Girls were gagglingand I did 7 loads of washing in 3 days  I know where it comes from - the inability for teenagers to hang clothes back up so automatically put them in the washing basket! At least the weather was good for drying
Hope you're getting to enjoy some of the sunshine

Too true - it's like setting light to money
Glad to see that you are still saving SSS even after paying off your mortgage - I must nip over to your diary - it was one of the first ones I read and a real inspiration to me.

What beautiful weather we have been having - it's such a joy to live in this country when the sun shines - it's just a shame it never lasts for more than a few days.
I should be decorating today but have moved my days around this week as I REALLY have to get up to date with the business accounts and send out some invoices before we run out of money. I haven't really kept on top of it over the last few months and I'm certainly paying for it now (that's why I'm on here of course)
I spent most of yesterday catching up with the household admin - schools, cars, holidays, bills etc - now that is done I need to get on with the business stuff.
Not a lot happening on the MS front. I've spent most of my entertainment budget for the month already (half on my haircut) - I think I have about £25 left. The kids have been costly too so far this month as well as the car. I sponsored my BIL £50 as he is cycling across England next Sunday in aid of a cancer charity - money well spent.
I've kept up my water and fruit challenge - though I did have a couple of days where I didn't meet my target (although wine comes from a fruit and I had plenty of that :rotfl:). I've not bought any bulk purchases to carry over so hopefully my credit card bill should be a bit lower next month (currently stands at £2000 for this month). Decluttering challenge has gone to the wall as I just haven't had the time or inclination to search for things - I may do a clear out next weekend.
Which reminds me if anyone is interested The Minimalists are coming to London on their tour on October 9th and the tickets are free. Go to Eventbrite on line if you want to pick some up. They are going to several other cities too.
Gas usage is going well, washing not so well, dishwasher usage fairly good. Loo roll count to date 12!
Daily Food Budget £6.85
RIGHT I can not put it off any longer - business accounts here I come (just going to pop the kettle on first)

Beautiful day to do the washing - not sure I want to be doing the housework though.
Managed to sort out the business accounts and invoices on Tuesday - just need to make sure I keep on top of them. Still have to sort out a lost luggage claim for DH who's bags didn't turn up until the evening before he was coming home.
Busy couple of days decorating - I've had to do some plastering as the walls were crumbling away - lets just say I'm a little out of my depth and I have a horrible feeling its going to look worse than when I started. I did say to my SIL that she needed a plasterer but she wouldn't have it.
Financials haven't been too bad this week - though I have no money left for entertainment and I'm out to lunch today with my bessies!
Water fruit and veg still going well - hoping to do a bit of decluttering this weekend. Gas and electric bills came in this week. My calculations are out a little as under calculated by £18 on the gas and £4 on the electric. Not too worried as we've only used £8 in gas for this month so far. Hopefully I will be able to get back into the black by September
Worried about the passport renewals I put in the other week for the kids - it would be just my luck if they didn't arrive in time, particularly as they've stated that it's the kids passports they seem to be having the most delays with
Need to order some euros this weekend - the exchange rate is fairly healthy at the moment and I want to make the most of it.
Daily food budget: £7.05
Off to clean the kitchen

Had a lovely weekend - visiting family and friends yesterday. Kids away at their respective parents so just me and DS.
Spent a good few hours today cleaning and a bit of decluttering. Really had to dig deep to find my 15 items for June to date. They included an old pumice stone, 2 champagne glasses, a couple of old usb sticks, an old key from goodness knows where, a balloon pump, belly button ring, cigarette holder and a couple of pairs of tights, etc etc - I think you get the picture:D
Wished my dad happy fathers day - he lives in Cyprus so not so easy to pop over - I wish.
£20 spent on petrol for trip to see family, around £20 spent on food for the weekend, one flexiaccount closed as its at the end of the one year bonus. So all in all not too expensive for the weekend.
About to watch a film with DH

Productive day yesterday - managing to keep on top of things. :j
I had good news with my monthly investment fund statement yesterday which means I am back on track with the annual return of 7% which pays for my rent on the house. I am £9500 up on last month  if only I got that every month - I'd soon reach my savings target. I'm not sure why I had such a good return this month unless it relates to dividend re-investments. Lets just say it was a huge relief.
£13 in from my santander cash back on direct debits.
DH pays me £150 a month towards a debt that I paid off for him. Its his last month and then it is finished. Unfortunately the payment which is a standing order didn't come through - I can only assume that he has no money in his account!
TO DO LIST- [STRIKE]menu plan[/STRIKE]

- [STRIKE]Trip to Mr T[/STRIKE]

Feels a bit chilly again today - no heating though. We've only used £11 this month and that is on the hot water - determined to keep it down so I can get back in the black with the utilities company.
Euros should be delivered today. I got an excellent rate compared to last year - I used this site :money: Just need the passports to arrive now
