you have just opened a can of worms! you will get two responses, those who think mediums are all fakes and should be hung drawn and quartered and those who believe that some are genuine.

I am so sorry about your son - if it helps, my personal belief is that there is an afterlife and you don't really need a medium if your son wants to be contacted. HE will somehow let you know he is around.
If you do decide to contact a medium please don't use the ones who advertise in mags.
The Spiritualist Church train Mediums and they will know of reputable mediums in your area. arrange an appointment and the sum should be reasonable.
The medium shouldn't 'cold read'. a good medium will ask you to say either NO, Yes or I don't know to their statements.
If all you want to know is if your loved one is happy - then I can say that according to Spiritualist belief then yes they are.

Once had my cards read but they were so far off base I nearly wet myself laughing (probably didn't help that I didn't believe in the first place).

I can giggle at the last post because I realise there are always going to be two trains of thought, and I would certainly not use a
medium who advertises in the papers. I just need to know from my own experience if you know what I mean.

I'm so sorry for your loss, but please don't fall victim to a con artist who would exploit your grief and suffering for financial gain.

Please contact Cruse, they are a much better option for somebody in your position:

Wish I had the gut's to do so, but I don't think it will give me the answers I'm looking for - I just don't know... Perhaps naively, I just want to know? x

I personally believe in mediums, but there are good and bad as there is in all areas, it may be worth looking at your local paper for a spirtilist church, as they have mediums,

I have seen some famous ones who I wouldn't pay again, but others such as Colin Fry, who I feel is really excellent.
