Thanks chickadee yes I remember you from the MFi3 days did you make it? Not sure you have a diary? Yes it has been a rollorcoaster of a year but everything has worked out for the better and I am so so much happier now. Only thing not so great is having to rehome the cats I still cannot quite start to think about this yet.

    PAYDAY TODAY - happy days

Paid off 1 credit card tried to do the other but DD coming out soon so don't want to do it twice. Also put £190 into holiday & presents pot.

Work is quite crap really everyone seems to be kicking off about tiny things and I have to ask my CEO to speak to them as I am not going to be here I don't feel I can answer for the person coming back. It is really really annoying now I am usually a very decisive person.

Still onwards and upwards not that long now and my new job should be coming out Monday so I can start looking at competency based examples.

Audit yesterday was really difficult but the person doing it didn't know that much so I think out of the 4 files that were eventually picked as not good enough two are fine. My manager of that team is really experienced so I don't think we are in any trouble.

Still loving the MSE way not spending a lot and nice to see money in the bank and knowing credit cards are almost clear or is clear.

Looking forward to the weekend hopefully lots of golf DG has found another golf course worth a look at for beginner membership but I still have a preferred course where we are going for a mid summer night BBQ Friday week. I miss being a member of a golf club but DG isn't quite good enough yet to warrant a membership.

Not a good day spending and gymwise. Decided to buy lunch in a caf! (my weekly treat was £7.50) as gym is 7.30 on a Thursday so nice to have big lunch. Anyway DG went out for drink with work so didn't want to go so I went home and then wanted to head back out when the torrential rain hit so didn't in the end. Also spent £3 on cherries. Got my lunch pack today so no spend will get my free latte at Waitrose but will buy some wine and beer to drink at home tonight.

Work is really getting me down now one of my teamleaders has a long term health problem which she is in treatment for so only in 2 days a week and only about 10.30 to 3pm. She's is paranoid that I am keeping things from her and if I don't update her on the smallest things she gets really unpleasant. My CEO has said to leave it and she will speak to her as she is also having to apply for her own job so things aren't easy but still no need to be so horrible.

Anyway it is the weekend and although I want to start on my application (still not had the proper one but I know the JD & the person spec) and also sort my personal papers out from the house should still be time to chill and relax much needed after this week.

Back Monday morning weekend went far too quickly but fairly productive although no golf yesterday weather iffy. Got the our rooms cleaned, Lidl shopping done, lunches made for the week, washing and best of all sorted my personal papers but missing is two documents which is strange. My birth certificate and our marriage certificate from Mauritius. Very odd hoping they are in a loose pile in the cupboard back down South.

Not spent that much got a clothes rail off Gumtree £5 its a double one as my free one (skip raid) had died so now the store room looks much better. Also got all my Summer clothes down and put away my Winter clothes but the stuff that doesn't fit me as I am now too fat. Don't need to buy any clothes need to take a load to Denmark and leave it there.

My Stocks and Shares ISA is taking a nosedive its a tracker one and I set it up in 2012 but its only made £50 since then. They go up and down and I am not sure concerned as its for the long term and I am feeding in £250 a month.

Didn't get around to taking over the corner in the kitchen this weekend will probably do tonight guy doesn't officially move out until the end of the month but other people have started to move his stuff around. Lounge looks nice now just need a small book case maybe and a veg trolley I have at my place down South plus a lamp. So annoying only to have a Fiat 500 even if I love Rossi its not great for golf or moving stuff about.

So this week my job should go out today so I can now apply also big meeting with funder which is not likely to go well but I am handing that one back so doesn't really affect me too much.

Anyway hope you are all nice and dry and at work.

Thanks TG. Yes we did indeed make it to mortgage freedom. It is a lovely feeling knowing that nobody can take it away from you. I bought a new car though a couple of years ago so I'm still paying for that but that debt will be gone this time next year as well. I'm now working on building up an early-retirement pot whilst paying off the car and helping my son through uni. It's a good job I don't have extravagant tastes :)

I have a couple of cats as well now. They are nearly three years old and were rescued. I love them to bits so I can understand how you feel about having to re-home yours. Good luck. I don't have a diary on here, I tend to lurk more than post these days.

Good luck with the job application.

Chickadee that is well deserved a new car definitely got to live as well and very well worth helping your son I was lucky my parents did this I had a peppercorn rent (mum and dad bought flat with another couple) plus also grant in those days and mum and dad had saved from I was born. Never had a student loan so lucky what young people have to pay today is just scary.

Lovely you have cats and rescue ones best thing getting home to be greeted by your animals if they can be bothered in the case of some cats. My neighbour sent me some lovely pictures of mine on Friday so so miss them.

Heard nothing about the job today but CEO has other things on her mind like selecting who gets to be made redundant. The person I would like to see go isn't even in the running sadly but it's not my team so not my decision thank god.

No spend today only £2.80 on bits for dinner on joint account. DG has bought ice cream for pudding so naughty but nice of her. Gym tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday so should be ok.

Found this diary on the debt free wannabe board so scary it was like reading about myself and my ex DH the functioning alcoholic. Brought it home to me how I used to feel and act and think it was normal. Thank goodness I met DG and saw sense thanks to friends etc.

Gym yesterday no spend apart from £3.80 on icecream very naughty and I need to loose at least 5 kilo so no need. However it was a tough day at work everyone moaning and telling me what a shambles the restructure is. They demand to be told every little detail but we don't have it as it will emerge when we know who gets what jobs. Problem is one section has been held up by a month by someone with a long term illness not making a decision. She is at work and has finished treatment and she was there moaning how slow it all was. Then after A long day one of the team leaders came and spoke to me very nicely and it cheered me up a bit. I had told him I wanted to apply for the new job but he felt I should have told everyone in the meeting. Problem is now it will be at least 1 or 2 weeks before they will advertise and then we are in July so my guess is it wont be until after the Summer. Quite fancy having all of August off maybe some of September but then what if I don't get the job. Looked at jobs and there are loads some look quite nice problem is they are £35K max whereas I am on quite a bit more and so is the new job. Still everything will work it self out and when the person I am covering comes back on the 4th July she can take the flack which is quite perfect and I can work on my projects.

Sorry for the long moan just getting to me now.

In other news BBQ at golf club on Friday, some golf ball testing on Saturday and then otherwise chill time as I don't have a job to apply for. Mon & Tues next week I start my new leadership course and I cannot wait that will be so good so have worked out I have 3 days this week and 3 days next week to get through then I can hand it all over. Result.

Anyway take care be good and money saving but also remember to have fun and treat yourself. Work life balance is really important.

Ok dilemma dear friends on line I really want a new iPhone yes mine is only two years old 5c the colour one but battery is playing up and contract coming to an end. It's £24.99 and got upgrade prices for new IPhone SE which I would prefer is £35.99 with what I need. That's £863.76 over 24 months where as I thought easy let's stay with EE sim only and buy phone at Apple for £359 sim only £9.99 a month only 250 min and very little data but I got broadband with them so it will boost to 10GB. Nope doesn't work need to pay £21.99 to get the broadband boost. So although it's £599 with the Sim only I don't have proper wifi at work so not enough data. So looked at MSE BT does deal £10 a month and £40 Amazon voucher for BT broadband customers which I am at my old house. That's £560 over 2 years but only £10 a month and I can change after 1 year. I could wait for the prices to drop but contract ends 30/6 so don't want to pay more than I should. I know androi is much cheaper but I prefer iPhone sorry.

Also in other news didn't make it to the gym talking to DG on the phone as I walked out of work (having left in time for gym even though I had a volunteer doing my website. We are talking and I walk straight to the busstop and get on before I realised so went home instead too late to get off walk back and get there in time. So stupid as I was carrying my kit which I now have to cart back in. Dumb and dumber than one.

DG is at her last free golf Lesson so peace and quiet for now.

Honestly with the phone? Keep the one you have, get a £15 per month rolling contract and pay £50 to get the battery fixed in a shop. Use phone until it REALLY dies, and bank the cash.
