Been a very frugal weekend stocked up in Lidl £120 but loads of bulk. Went to the pictures took own drink and sweets so total spend £1 between us plus £3 bus for me. Today golf £5 and took own drink and food. We did also send a list of all my ex goflclubs to an eBay buyer we wants too know what I want for them but I don't know so asked him.

Did also book a one night stay in a golf hotel with DG it's £95 each but you get 1 night dinner bed and breakfast and two rounds of golf that is very cheap. We can also check on my house and that's it it should be rent out there after.

X factor TVs evening after dinner doing well on low carb feel back on track. Done a load of tidy up too now just final stint at my house for the next three days and getting there.

Not sure what's up with Freegle listed 4 things and emailed to offer some on a microwave not a single reply. Strange indeed and I have checked my junk mail. Trying a bigger group maybe more luck there.

That's it frugal weekend and lunches to take with me down South so should be fine for next few days.

Spent the last four days sorting my house almost done only a few bits left or chuck or put in the loft. Garden is looking great and all is painted outside. Painter is doing the inside so all is good.

Sold a few bits on gumtree but ended up giving a lot away so that's great and only the big wardrobes left in the garage so might have to pay for those to be taken away but if that's The only thing that's fine.

Insurance companies has written wil have to call them tomorrow will update you all will be a bit more money related as well.

It's amazing how much sorting there is in these circumstances, it's a case of just keep ploughing on and getting it done. It sounds as if it will soon be ready to rent out:T

Thanks Gally you know the drill I'm sure. Bugslet that's horrible was it expected or unexpected, it's such a hard decision to make but sometimes much kinder to do it a bit too early than too late.

Lovely relaxing weekend can't believe I've only got 1 week left before I start work where did that two months go. Never had that much time off but have been quite busy.

House is getting there only big wardrobes and few kitchen bits to be removed everything else is really out or can go in the loft.

Need landlord insurance sorted as normal one runs out 19/9. Out for filter for boiler is £300 from BG which seems a lot would like it done though. Pump was playing up might have to get that done too.

Filled in one insurance form that's easy and should pay out no hassle it's the life insurance one. The other one I've spoken to I'm getting the original policy documents and I might need advice from IFA as its a pension pot. Might risk asking on the MSE board but they can be quite harsh. Need to find a good IFA as the last one the work they did is inaccurate and I paid £800 for it. No reference numbers either plus I could do with some pension advice myself have a couple of pensions.

Can't wait to start playing with the money and shuffle it around into ISA's and other bits. Such low rates got to make the most of it.

Sorted sky out cancelled mine at the old house and friend is letting us log in on his for £15 a month and we get sport and Sky Cinema very nice.

Also got new quote for broadband here we share and it was a Martin deal last time. I want super plus fibre and if all six rooms sign up its £62 per room. I'm hoping that all agree as existing one is crap. Too many people on it plus it doesn't reach other side of building.

Going to play some golf today if weather is nice been fairly frugal but dietwise not good McD yesterday but very little drinking Friday. Found these French beers in Lidl £2 for 8 25cl ones taste like proper larger but only 2.8% really nice. Placed Sainsbo order easier to get water etc delivered.

Update on progress
All stuff out of the house bar a few kitchen things, tools and garden stuff. Going to ask neighbour if I can store some very temporarily in her garage or shed. Depends really when it will rent out. Estate agent did call but I was on my two day leadership course so didn't have time to talk to him.

Course really good very much enjoyed it and the others are really nice.

To do today my last but one day of freedom.

Email accountant friend re valuation of company shares
Email IFA recommended by accountant friend
Sort insurance out for house and here
Ring estate agent
Do the washing
Look at bereavement benefits
Chill and watch bake off might have to do that first with another cup of tea

Jack had his op yesterday he's still at the vets so once friend gets the call to bring him home I can call up and pay for him. I do miss them both so much but I know they are in good safe hands.

I think that's it for now will update if anything interesting with estate agent crops up

It's 3.30 and I've done my to do list incl rubbing leather cream into a sofa that smells of smoke. Didn't get insurance for this place but that can wait.

Need to unpack some boxes from my house that's to do next.

Estate agent don't want to market the property until it's ready so that won't be until the end of this month. Shame but that's how he wants to do it.

Speaking to IFA tomorrow morning so will update then.

I feel I need a new diary this one has been around since Aug 2013 when I had been four months in my new job with the CAB. So much has happened since then and I'm now stepping into a new job and I'm also an accidental landlord.

Out with the old and in with the new hopefully you will also follow the new one and I promise it will be more money focussed as there's lots to play with once my inheritance comes in.

I think it would be a brilliant idea TG and I,me sure everyone would still love to follow your progress.
I have had a very similar thought.... to move my diary to the mortgage free forum and maybe keep it more as a money orientated theme "I do moan alot about my personal life Lol" although must admit would miss the occasional rant......................might follow your example, Good luck with your new beginnings Xx
