Thanks Bugslet it was quite bad and it felt a bit odd going home after the grave without the wake but we did have it and he would have found it funny. Seeing his dad tomorrow and my list is doing quite well
Prep for job interview - not quite done and getting help from friend tomorrow
Call estate agent - done booked in for viewing Monday
Call Guardian company re emptying of bins or lack off - DG has done this
Call friend re plastering, hood, oven and small repairs - not done better do when down there as he might pop over imidiately
Call decorator arrange to meet this week or early next week - arranged for Saturday plus seeing two others Saturday.
Email FIL re meeting Friday remind him to chase ex dh last wages plus info for probate - done meeting him at 11 tomorrow
Find relevant forms for letter of administration and get DG to print them out - done seeing friend who can help tomorrow night
Start making lists off everything that needs doing for probate and house - not
Also arranged to see friend I couldn't meet last time on Monday night so will be a busy one but worth it. Bit worried I won't get everything done in time as need plasterer before painting upstairs but hopefully my friend will come up trumps if not can use rated people which I have for two of the decorator quotes the third is personal recommendation. Also got quote for central heating don't really understand it so might have to check out what it covers. Might leave it anyway.
So list tomorrow is also long but will do that at house.
Tired so will need sleep soon seems to wake up so early.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Operation house clears ace going well lots of trips to the tip and a selling frenzy on Gumtree. Charity shops have also benefitted and I've sold all ex dh clothes for £12 to a recycle place. Horrible that it was worth so little but bit was upsetting to handle it any more seeing his favourite tops etc. I should have given it all to charity but it's done now and I've kept some sweaters and jackets plus his two tuxedoes.
Almost emptied all cupboards and draws so ready to move big load on Sunday with DG.
Started in loft yesterday and found a box I had made after our wedding it had cards and some photos in it and at the back a plastic wallet with both birth certificates and best of all our WEDDING CERTIFICATE. So now I can call the insurance companies thank god.
Estate agent bringing navy guy over at 11 today so want to clean downstairs before they arrive. Garden is looking better patio has been cleaned but it keeps raining so difficult to put algea cleaner on same for drive.
Spoken to friend who was a nurse but has been in advice for ages about my presentation got some pointers but not worked on it. Must do today as suppose yo meet friend later today. Also cat sitting next door but that's fine.
Charity shop is collecting bedroom furniture Saturday but need to know if I leave dishwasher and washing machine I suspect not. Might take washing machine its brand new.
So much to do but feel more calm about it
Some small repairs to do but friend will do this no need to replace oven and hob I'll just get it cleaned. Waiting for third quote for painting its just under £3000 with all materials and skimming of two ceilings. I'm hoping third quote who is a friends SIL will be much more or a lot less as he cannot organise a plastere and the other two can so much easier for me to go with them.
Need to order carpets but no rush yet.
Also need to inform council tax, more banks and obviously pension and insurance company but FIL has got everything for me.
My solicitor friend will help with probate but she says I'm a couple of months away from that. Still the business details to get but now BIL is back in SA he will be fine to give me that.
I think that is it mamouth list of things to do but feel I'm getting there.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks Safehouse got another load to tip and one loaded for tomorrow. Phone COuncil tax nothing to pay now also took load to charity shop. Next door was a lovely local carpet place got someone to measure tomorrow and will be fitted on the 27/9. Cheap but good for letting.
Spoke to both insurance companies forms will be sent. Also had help from cleaner to get everything I had packed up in the loft looks lovely and loads more space.
Only not so good news is estate agent brough navy goes around with two women if traditional Saudi family they need two steerage reception rooms with doors and mine is open plan. If modern it's fine so won't know until two or three days if they take it. Also they only need one house not three fingers crossed as won't that deal now.
Coffee table gone on gumtree £30 but paid cleaner £30 for helping me which was much needed.
Met friend tonight told her about DG and me she was fine she knows us both but had no idea not seen her together since we got together but many times before that. In bed need early night DG talking to friend so have to wait for that to wish her goodnight.
Work on prevention tomorrow for interview and tip run plus pack car that is all.

So where are we now re the house:
No call from estate agent hopefully today
Booked painter starts 6 or 7/9 he was the recommended one and is at least £1200 cheaper.
No plastere booked yet did leave him a message
Sofa still here but someone looking at cabinets Friday night
Van booked to move furniture and stuff am taking to London Saturday
Carpets being fitted 27/9 but need to hear from them re how much and she hasn't called yet
Gas services needs to be booked
Oven hob and cooker plus carpets and mats being cleaned Friday
:T:TWE ARE GETTING THERE :T:T
So went for interview yesterday presentation a bit stilted but pre interview exercise a breeze. Liked the panel didn't answer well on health care and social care I'm really only strong on advice issues.
Got a call at 4pm offering me the job four days a week Friday's off and the portfolio I wanted (advice) and top salary range. Told I was really enthusiastic and knew my management stuff. Nice to get such positive feedback after last interview only a month ago.
I'm very happy and have accepted it means I'm on £31,600 pa for four days work and I'll have my rental income but I won't need to pay top tax rate on much if any. Also I don't start until the 19/9. :T:T:T
It would roughly work out to me earning the same as I do now so I can continue to save as our rent is so cheap and travel will be the same as I was paying.
This feels right and I'm happy to stay doing this type of management and get the chance to learn about a new area and organisation.
Just need estate agent and plastere to call me back
And finally the boys continue to settle in well my friends family are loving them and I get regular updates. Scaredy cat Thomas is the most settled I think he'd missed his cuddles so much he's forgotten to be scared. Jack is getting there and the dog is scared of both of them poor thing. Other cat is just ignoring them so that's good.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Congratulations TG, glad things are going well for you :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks guys nice of you to pop in
Things are still progressing meeting new colleague Tuesday also popping in to see the CAB that's offered me some part time work. Not sure I really want it but if it's interesting and only one day a week for a short time might work.
Found plastere coming Mon to quote wanted to come today bit obliviously not there. Just needs doing not going to bother with three quotes etc. He says he can fit me in.
Carpet is £437 so nice and cheap booked for 27/9
Queried funeral director over bill if it included digging the hole. It didn't they are getting money back from council so didn't bill me. Council has appologised to FIL so as far as council is concerned he's accepted and they will change their procedures. Might ask FIL what excuse it was at some point. I wanted to sue them but difficult now.
Santander has appologised for their stupid letter and logged my compliant it's all about potential fraud on ex dh account asking me to ring them when I can't as they wont speak to me only can be done in branch.
Appointments to sort out nautonwide, Halifax and Lloyds next week still waiting for call back from American Express.
Going to old work Tues to look at CMS system so don't want to but needs must. Also meeting them on the 8th but that's it then.
Still to do on house provided everything happens I have planned booked:
Call from estate agent or I'll chase him in a bit
Sell double bed after this weekend
Sell TV or take up to here giving one away as quite old and we have lost the remote.
Look at 360 feedback and reply to tutor plus prep for residential
Sort out FCA stuff for old work
I think that's it and by the way I'm still in bedSave £12k in 25 No 49
